Warning: SPOILERS for Netflix’s The Circle Episodes 1-4
For Week 2 of the reality tv series The Circle, Netflix will be dropping four new episodes. Before those air, here is a recap of how the show works and what viewers need to know from the first four episodes.
The show follows a group of contestants who move into an apartment building, but never meet face-to-face. Using only a specially-designed social media app, the contestants are able to represent themselves in any way they want. Periodically, the players all rate each other’s popularity. Based on the results, the two highest-ranked players become influencers and get to choose who is blocked from The Circle. The person who is blocked must leave the game. In the end, the highest-rated player remaining wins the $100k prize money. During episodes 1-4, viewers were introduced to the eight original players, and it was revealed if they would be playing as themselves or entering The Circle as a catfish. There were two rankings, two players eliminated, and two new players introduced.
ALANA
Playing as: Herself.
Current: Eliminated after first rankings by influencers Sammie and Antonio.
Rankings: Ranked 3rd in first rankings. Eliminated before second rankings.
KARYN
Playing as: Karyn is a catfish playing as Mercedeze.
Current Status: Still in the game.
Rankings: Ranked 7th in first rankings and moved up to 4th in second rankings.
ANTONIO
Playing as: Himself, though changed his relationship status to single for the game.
Current Status: After being an influencer in first rankings, he was eliminated in second rankings by influencers Chris and Shubham.
Rankings: Ranked 2nd in first rankings and fell to 7th in second rankings before being eliminated.
SAMMIE
Playing as: Herself, but changed her relationship status to single for the game.
Current Status: Still in the game and was an influencer for 1st rankings.
Rankings: Ranked 1st in first rankings and fell to 5th place (tied with Joey) in second rankings.
SHUBHAM
Playing as: Himself
Current Status: Still in the game and was an influencer for second rankings.
Rankings: Ranked last at 8th in first rankings and moved up to a tie for 1st (with Chris) in second rankings.
SEABURN
Playing as: Seaburn is a catfish playing as his real-life girlfriend, Rebecca, who he has made single for the game.
Current Status: Still in the game.
Rankings: Ranked 6th in first rankings and moved up to 3rd in second rankings.
JOEY
Playing as: Himself
Current Status: Still in the game.
Rankings: Ranked 4th in first rankings and fell to a 5th place tie with Sammie in second rankings.
CHRIS
Playing as: Himself
Current Status: Still in the game and was an influencer after second rankings.
Rankings: Ranked 5th in first rankings and moved up to tie for 1st with Shubham in second rankings.
MIRANDA
Playing as: Herself
Current Status: Still in the game, added as a new player in episode 2.
Rankings: Not ranked yet. Miranda was not in the game for the first ranking, and as a new player was immune from second ranking.
ALEX
Playing as: Alex is catfishing as a young attractive single man named Adam
Current Status: Still in the game, added as a new player in episode 2.
Rankings: Not ranked yet. Alex was not in the game for either of the first two rankings.
