The Circle Season 1 Cast: Where Are They Now?

The Circle is the social experiment turned competition that first aired on Netflix in January of 2020. When the show first started, audiences got to know the season 1 cast and made their judgments, but soon learned to not judge every book by its cover. Audiences fell in love with players that they had originally pegged as basic or shallow, and found themselves rooting for the most unlikely of the bunch.

While not every player made it far on the show, each competitor earned a fairly strong platform as a result of their time in their little apartment. From simply enjoying life back at home with their loved ones or taking the world by storm with important activism, each season 1 cast member has been living life to the fullest since leaving The Circle; here is where they all are now.

Alana Duval

Alana was the gorgeous model who seemed to be just too good to be true to the other Circle players. Because of this, she was blocked at the end of the first episode (much to Joey’s disappointment).

Today, Alana boasts an impressive 167k followers on her Instagram. She is a model for Aston Models LA, and frequently post pictures showcasing the classic beauty that resulted in her boot from the show. She is still friends with Joey, but it is unclear if they ever went out on that date he had clearly been hoping for.

Karyn Blanco

Karyn was one of the show’s early catfishers, pretending to be a young feminine woman by the name of Mercedeze. Karyn used this strategy to gain attention but worked hard to keep true to her own funny and intelligent personality. Her goal was to show the world how much more likely a woman is to be given a chance when she is thin, feminine, and straight.

Since she was blocked from the show, Karyn has developed a following as a musician and performer, garnering 156k followers on her Instagram. Using the stage name “The Silent Celeb,” Robyn spends a lot of time entertaining crowds with her smooth voice. Her Insta is full of lifestyle-type posts, as well as many posts featuring fashion aimed at masculine-styled women.

Miranda Bissonnette

Miranda joined the show after the first episode, which didn’t allow her to quite make it in with the “it” crowd of The Circle. She initially made a connection with Sammie, but quickly flushed that when Miranda falsely accused Sammie of being a catfish. It was her connection with Joey, however, that made her stand out, sharing a steamy kiss with him after her elimination.

Despite her fairly short time on the show, Miranda is one of the most followed contestants of Season 1, with 441k Instagram followers.  She posts images frequently, always showcasing her gorgeous shape and edgy tattoos. Her Instagram also shows that she has maintained a friendship with Joey, but the two adamantly remind fans that they are not an item.

Alex Lake

Alex chose to compete on The Circle as the bearded hunk, Adam, a role he found more challenging than he had anticipated. His cringy attempts at flirting didn’t seem to work on the female contestants, only snagging a fellow catfish, Rebecca, AKA Seaburn.

In real life, Alex is a slightly dorky yet adorable guy who is married to an equally adorable wife. Currently, Alex has 26.2k  Instagram followers and posts fairly normal pictures with his wife and cute cats. He once posted a series of FAQs about his time on the show that is worth seeing for those who want to know the ins and outs of life in The Circle apartments.

Sean Taylor

Sean was another late addition to the show. Originally, she chose to hide her plus-size frame behind pictures of her thin and modelesque coworker but later decided to reveal her true self to the other competitors. Her brave decision was admired, and despite forming one of the best The Circle friendships with Rebecca, she still ended up blocked in the show’s tenth episode.

Unsurprisingly due to her job as a social media expert, Sean has done well on Instagram, with 175k followers. She posts pictures featuring adorable fashion aimed at plus-size women, and she has a tagline that reads “helping big bellied babes feel hot and find clothes.” She is a huge advocate for inclusive brands, supporting black-owned, female-empowering, and plus-size-friendly products.

Seaburn Williams

Seaburn, AKA Rebecca, was another fan favorite catfish and finished in fifth place of season 1. Seaburn chose to compete as his girlfriend, stating that he wanted the opportunity and freedom to wear his heart on his sleeves and be emotional in a way he never felt he could before.

Today, it seems that Seaburn and Rebecca may have ended their relationship, as there is no recent sign of her on his Instagram. The comedy-focused influencer currently has 292k followers. Recently, he posted that he will be competing on the TV series Influence Me, with a goal to raise funds and knowledge for the JED Foundation, which supports emotional health for teens and young adults.

Chris Sapphire

Chris decided to compete as his full and authentic self, and that is exactly what he always brought to the table. As one of the funniest cast members on The Circle, his brutally honest and open personality made him a favorite among the other players, which allowed him to have a strong finish in fourth place.

Chris is still considered one of the most memorable contestants across any of The Circle seasons, so it’s no surprise that the show chose him to be the host of the season 3 reunion special. With a huge following of 572k on Instagram, Chris has managed to secure some awesome brand partnerships, such as Airsculpt and Manscaped.

Sammie Cimarelli

Sammie is another contestant who had no interest in wearing a mask throughout her time on the show. She was open and honest, creating secure bonds with her fellow finalists. As the third-place runner-up, she didn’t win the big prize but was still awarded $10,000 before leaving the show.

Sammie is the most successful contestant as far as Instagram is concerned, with a huge following of one million. She describes herself as a plant and animal mama, but soon she will be a mama to a bouncing baby as well! She is currently sporting an adorable pregnant belly and has recently posted some beautiful maternity photos accompanied by her boyfriend, 13 Reasons Why actor Spence Moore II.

Shubham Goel

Shubham, who started season 1 ranked completely last by his fellow contestants, ended up being universally loved by the crew shortly thereafter. Affectionately dubbed “Shooby” the virtual reality game designer created an especially tight bond to Joey and Rebecca (later revealed to be Seaburn).

Today, Shooby has a 586k following on Instagram and seems to be his same adorable self. He posts cute sketches featuring his “dad joke” type humor and maintains a lighthearted and cheerful presence. He and Joey were one of the most unexpected friendships on The Circle, and fans will be happy to know that they still appear to be tight. Shooby recently posted a picture of the pair along with a heartfelt “happy birthday” message to his season 1 pal and garnered hearty thanks in return.

Joey Sasso

An unlikely fan favorite, Joey started the show appearing to be the basic “Jersey Shore wannabe” type. He quickly surprised contestants and viewers, however, revealing himself to be a wholesome family guy with a heart of pure gold. Suddenly, everyone was rooting for Joey, which allowed him to become the first winner of the show.

Joey’s Instagram perfectly exemplifies just how wholesome he really is. He is frequently sharing images and videos of his large family with his 749k followers, reinforcing his frequent claims of “family first” while on the show. He also seems to have maintained the most connections with his season 1 competitors, frequently featuring or tagging them. Recently, he shared a video with co-contestant Miranda, in which they both laughed over a situation in which they were caught by a fan purchasing a family planning aid together, and had to explain that it was for Miranda only, and not as a result of a “relationship” between them.
