The Challenge: Fessy Named ‘Worst Competitor Ever’ By Fans

Fans of The Challenge have conducted a poll to determine the “worst competitor ever,” and it lists but one name—Fessy Shafaat. The Big Brother alum and self-professed introvert, Fessy has drawn the ire of fans because of his spotty performance and overinflated ego on the show. His performance in the first half of the Double Agents final has solidified him as a player who talks a big game but flakes out when it counts. Fessy seemed like a frontrunner at the beginning of the season, so what happened?

At the start of the season, Fessy came in with guns a-blazing, winning the first two daily challenges. But both times he turned down the chance to send himself into elimination to win a gold skull and secure a spot in the final. This was the first red flag for fans who began to see that though Fessy is a beast with impressive physical strength, he didn’t bring much else to the table, which is a major detriment in the competition. Fessy has made it to the first half of the final, but fans doubt he’ll go further—and they’re glad.

Fans never liked the Big Brother alliance, so they were fuming over the fact that Fessy was running the final with fellow Big Brother alum Kaycee Clark. But they aren’t exactly a dream team, and fans aren’t surprised to see them doing poorly in the gnarly and intense final. With Fessy’s quitter attitude fully on display, fans ran a poll determining the worst competitor in Challenge history. The poll had three players listed: Fessy, Fessy, and Fessy—hmm, decisions, decisions. Over 200 fans unanimously decided that Fessy was indeed the worst competitor ever.

Fessy was put in a tough spot in the final when his partner Kaycee got seriously injured and they dropped to last place. But he was ready to throw in the towel at their next checkpoint. Competitors were required to consume a disgusting spread of gross food and drinks, and Fessy confided that he would rather not eat the nasty food and lose than eat the food and probably lose anyway. This attitude is a big no-no among Challenge fans who expect to see every competitor give it their all.

Like fellow competitor and Olympian Lolo Jones, there were high expectations for Fessy that he just didn’t deliver on. Fans have called him a “jabroni” and “candy a**” for the way he’s thrown challenges throughout the season in an effort to switch partners. Fessy’s pumped-up ego doesn’t match his quitter frame of mind, which is why fans can’t stand him. If you’re going to brag about how good a competitor you are, you better have the skills, and more importantly, the attitude, to back it up.

Fans think Fessy is the worst competitor ever, which likely puts him in position for a villain edit next season. Fessy is reportedly in quarantine for The Challenge season 37, much to the chagrin of fans. The show will be quarantining more challengers than will appear on the show, in case some of them test positive for COVID. So, there’s a chance that Fessy won’t compete next season, but with the way he gets fans worked up, MTV will probably make sure he’s a part of the cast. His chances of winning the Double Agents final are slim to none, but perhaps he’ll have a better attitude next time.
