In this season of The Challenge, the teams are constantly changing, and there are a few developments to keep in mind for the next episode. There is only one new team since episode 3, but the decisions made by contestants this week were impactful.
Tori Deal and Ed Eason ended up winning the daily challenge, but rookie Tommy Sheehan got a concussion and was deemed medically unfit to compete. After her and Ed’s win, Tori was left with a decision – maintain the veteran alliance and send rookies into elimination or destroy the veteran alliance by sending in Big T Fazakerley.
The house voted in Tacha Akide and Jeremiah White. Tori and Ed upheld the veteran alliance, sending in Berna Canbeldek and Corey Lay. Jeremiah and Corey L. were exempt from elimination because Tommy left. Berna and Tacha went head-to-head and ultimately Berna came out on top.
Amanda Garcia & Kyle Christie
Amanda and Kyle continued to keep a low profile last episode and are riding in the middle of the pack, enjoying their safety as an all-veteran team.
Amber Borzotra & Josh Martinez
Another all-vet team who are (so far) not making waves, Amber and Josh are treating The Challenge season 37 like a marathon, not a sprint.
Aneesa Ferreira & Logan Sampedro
These two put in a solid performance in the daily challenge, with Logan demonstrating some serious swimming skills, though ultimately they didn’t win.
Ashley Mitchell & Hughie Maughan
Though Hughie was terrified of jumping off the cliff, he overcame his fear and actually made it back to shore before his vet partner, Ashley. There could be more to this rookie than meets the eye.
Big T Fazakerley & Jeremiah White
After Jeremiah’s former partner, Tacha, lost the elimination challenge, and after Big T’s former partner, Tommy, was medically disqualified, these two were partnered up by default.
Corey Lay & Michele Fitzgerald
Though Corey L. was worried about being sent into elimination, he and his new partner Michele were spared. These Challenge season 37 rookies have a good chance at winning, despite having a target on their backs.
Cory Wharton & Bettina Buchanan
Cory and Bettina didn’t make much of a splash this episode, even after jumping off a cliff into the sea.
CT Tamburello & Berna Canbeldek
Berna pulled out an impressive win during elimination this week and she wisely chose to stay with her veteran partner, CT.
Devin Walker & Emy Alupei
Emy is still happy with her decision to steal Devin for her partner last episode, and Devin worked overtime to make sure the veteran alliance held for another week.
Fessy Shafaat & Esther Agunbiade
This team won the daily challenge last week but didn’t perform especially well this week. However, with Fessy’s veteran status, they’re probably okay.
Kaycee Clark & Emanuel Neagu
Though Tori and Ed won the daily challenge, Kaycee and Emanuel came in second, just barely missing out on the top spot. Promising rookie Emanuel partnered up with powerhouse Challenge vet Kaycee to make this team a serious contender.
Nany Gonzalez & Gabo Szabó
Nany and Gabo were barely seen in this episode, but Gabo demonstrated a poor grasp on the way the game is played, and he could become a liability for Nany.
Nelson Thomas & Priscilla Anyabu
This veteran-rookie team is still going with the flow, though Nelson’s flirtation with Berna has Ashley fuming and could send waves throughout the house.
Ed Eason & Tori Deal
Tori had many other vets worried that she was going to break up the veteran alliance early. However, she kept a cool head and smartly sent in Berna and Jeremiah. But, because Jeremiah didn’t have to compete, he could be gunning for them in the next episode.
In this episode of The Challenge, the new team that was formed and the old one that stayed together provide insight into what’s going on in the veterans’ and rookies’ heads. Though the veteran alliance was in jeopardy, it ultimately held strong. Going into the next episode, the veterans still maintain significant power.
The Challenge airs Wednesdays at 8 PM ET on MTV.
