The Boys Super Bowl Ad Is The Most Over-The-Top & Patriotic Thing From Vought Yet

The Boys Super Bowl Ad Is The Most Over-The-Top & Patriotic Thing From Vought Yet

The Boys debuted a parody of Super Bowl ads, and it’s as ridiculously patriotic as you’d expect. Although an exact debut date has not yet been revealed, it is known that The Boys season 4 will premiere later in 2024. The upcoming episodes will pick up where the previous installment left off, dealing with the fallout of Homelander murdering a protestor in public. It’ll also welcome several new cast members, including The Walking Dead‘s Jeffrey Dean Morgan.

While a premiere date for The Boys season 4 awaits, the villainous corporation Vought International has released a Super Bowl commercial parody.

The advertisement is an accurate parody of commercials that play on sentiment and profess universal values. In the end, all the emotion and the red, white, and blue are in service of selling Vought’s Turbo Rush energy drink.

Could This Be A Preview of Homelander’s Political Campaign?

Homelander’s foray into politics is hinted at in the parody. The video begins by lingering on a shot of actor Antony Starr in the role of Homelander, with his back turned to the camera. In the voiceover, a potential political consultant seems to be advising him. The adviser tells Homelander how useful it is to divide people, allowing them to fight among themselves and then swooping in for the rescue. The start of the trailer also previews the presidential campaign of Robert Singer (Jim Beaver) and Victoria Neuman (Claudia Doumit), which was hinted at in The Boys season 3 finale and continued in the Gen V spinoff.

Homelander’s son Ryan (Cameron Crovetti), who is joining the Prime Video series as a main cast member, also factors heavily in the trailer and appears a few times in the Super Bowl parody. It’s teased that Ryan could be aligning with his father. He smiles when he sees that his father has killed a protestor, which sets up a further divide between Homelander and Butcher (Karl Urban).

The Boys Season 4 Cast & Character Guide: Every Confirmed Supe So Far

From the supes to those trying to take them down, The Boys season 4 cast brings back the show’s popular characters as well as new faces.

The Boys season 4 will welcome new faces and supes, as well including Firecracker (Valorie Curry) and Sister Sage (Susan Heyward). That’s in addition to Morgan, who worked with showrunner Eric Kripke on Supernatural and looks to be playing a partner of Butcher. Though the Super Bowl advertisement doesn’t speak to any of those stories, it does playfully point to the manipulative nature of Homelander’s campaign.
