The Boys Season 4 Trailer: Homelander Vs Starlight, Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s Character Revealed

The first trailer for The Boys season 4 previews a battle between Homelander and Starlight and introduces Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s character. The hit Prime Video show, created by Eric Kripke and based on the comic book by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson, was renewed for season 4 in June 2022. Though filming had wrapped in April of this year, the show’s return was delayed as a show of solidarity with the writers’ strike. But more recently, with the strikes having concluded, there have been more reveals about the next chapter of the Emmy-nominated superhero satire.

Prime Video has now unveiled the first trailer for The Boys season 4, which will premiere sometime in 2024. Check it out below:

The trailer, revealed as part of CCXP 2023, focuses heavily on Antony Starr’s Homelander. It also teases several new characters, including Supernatural and The Walking Dead alum Jeffrey Dean Morgan sharing a scene with Billy Butcher (Karl Urban).

What’s Revealed In The Boys Season 4 Trailer

The trailer begins by lingering on a shot of Starr as Homelander, with his back turned to the camera. In the voiceover, a potential political consultant seems to be advising Homelander. The adviser tells Homelander how useful it is to divide people, allowing them to fight among themselves and then swooping in for the rescue. The start of the trailer also previews the presidential campaign of Robert Singer (Jim Beaver) and Victoria Neuman (Claudia Doumit), which was hinted at in the The Boys season 3 finale.

From there, The Boys season 4 trailer lingers on Starlight (Erin Moriarty) and Hughie (Jack Quaid) sharing a happy moment. There’s also a hint of Starlight and Homelander doing battle, as angry protestors carry anti-Starlight signs. Soon after, the preview does a quick cut of some of the new supes that will be a part of the upcoming episodes. Likewise, a brief scene hints at Ashley (Colby Minifie) having a seedy relationship with Vought’s favorite newscaster, Cameron Coleman (Matthew Edison).

Finally, the trailer ends with Billy Butcher sharing a scene with Morgan’s character. Based on the preview, Morgan’s character is less than impressed with The Boys moniker. There are other new characters like Firecracker (Valorie Curry) and Sister Sage (Susan Heyward), briefly glimpsed in the preview alongside Homelander’s son Ryan (Cameron Crovetti), who is likewise returning. Therefore, the wait is almost over for season 4 as the show brings back Homelander, Butcher, and everyone else.
