The Boys Season 3 May Bring Back Love Sausage Due To Fan Demand

Amazon’s The Boys season 3 could feature the return of the fan-favorite but bizarre comic character Love Sausage. For the last several weeks, fans of the first season of The Boys have been treated to more content through the release of season 2. The second season of Amazon Prime Video’s successful superhero series once again followed the stories of The Boys and The Seven, but it also introduced several new characters from the comics.

Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson created a substantial library of Supes for The Boys to use, and even though Stormfront was the biggest addition in season 2, there were more. One of the most notable additions – for quite a few reasons – was that of Love Sausage. In the comics, Love Sausage is a Russian Supe who is an ally of Billy Butcher and was given the gift of super-strength, durability, and large genitalia. The Boys introduced him, though, as a test subject at Sage Grove and Mother’s Milk experienced first hand what Love Sausage’s “love sausage” could do.

It was revealed during The Boys‘ panel for New York Comic Con that Love Sausage could make a return in season 3. Showrunner Eric Kripke teased the possible inclusion of the character during the conversation and noted that it was a recent idea. If Kripke decides to use the new pitch, The Boys season 3 will see M.M. and Love Sausage cross paths again.

Everyone pay attention to Laz’s response and reaction as I say this, which is last week a writer pitched that this is not the last time Mother’s Milk and Love Sausage interact. … We’re talking about it, there’s conversation.

The Boys Season 3 May Bring Back Love Sausage Due To Fan Demand

Viewers last saw Love Sausage in The Boys season 2 getting knocked out by Kimiko, which freed M.M. from his grasp. Although it isn’t clear what happened to him after Stormfront arrived on the scene, it is now possible that we haven’t seen the last of Love Sausage. It is still early on in this process, though, and it is possible that the current idea won’t be used in season 3 after all. Kripke says it was a recent idea, so any M.M. and Love Sausage reunion could be cut by the time filming begins.

Regardless of if Love Sausage appears in The Boys season 3, fans should be excited to hear that Kripke and the writers are still considering ways to use him again. That is great news by itself, but the chance for M.M. to come face-to-face with him again could be a great moment, especially considering the reaction it got from actor Laz Alonso. There was some fan interest in Jeffrey Dean Morgan playing Love Sausage in the next season, but this would require them to recast the role now. Now, we’ll just have to wait and see if Love Sausage makes a grand return in The Boys season 3.
