The Bear’s 2024 Hot Streak Will Become Even Bigger At The End Of The Year

The Bear’s 2024 Hot Streak Will Become Even Bigger At The End Of The Year

The Bear has had an incredible start to 2024 after sweeping up at the award shows, and this hot streak will continue later in the year. Considering how popular the show has become, it is no surprise to see it dominating the awards season, with the series winning numerous prizes. The Bear has won awards for its writing and acting and has been voted the best show in several categories, claiming ten Emmy Awards and three Golden Globes at the January 2024 ceremonies. This only looks to get better for The Bear as its 2024 success should get even bigger.

Despite receiving delays, The Bear‘s story will continue in season 3, which is expected to come this year, but what the series has already produced could still win it more prizes. The first two seasons received widely popular reviews from audiences and critics. Season 1 was able to craft excellent storylines and believable characters and The Bear season 2 continued its success by adding plenty of guest actors to help elevate the show. While season 1 has secured a plethora of awards, the Emmys delay means that season 2 will still have nominations to come towards the end of 2024.

The Bear Season 2 Will Be The Focus Of September 2024’s Emmy Awards

The Bear’s 2024 Hot Streak Will Become Even Bigger At The End Of The Year

As The Bear season 2 is eligible for September 2024’s Emmy Awards, it looks destined to continue its impressive streak. Labor strikes delayed the previous ceremony and the cut-off date only covered season 1, yet the show still managed to claim plenty of awards. Therefore, season 2 of The Bear will be up for nomination at September’s event and will be the front-runner in many categories. Its mixture of drama and comedy has helped it become one of 2023’s best-performing shows and, with season 2 continuing the form of the first season, it will be a serious contender once again.

There has been some debate around whether The Bear is a comedy or drama since the show has been mostly nominated for best comedy. This is one of its greatest strengths, as it balances both genres. With Succession being such a hit show, entering the best comedy categories gave The Bear a much stronger chance of winning prizes. The series could compete in either the comedy or drama category in September, but it may continue to run for best comedy to maximize its chances of winning, although, it will still be one of the biggest shows at the next Emmys.

Why The Bear Season 2 Deserves Even More Praise Than Season 1

Lionel Boyce as Marcus, Jeremy Allen White as Carmy, and Oliver Platt as Uncle Jimmy in The Bear

Although season 1 set ridiculously high expectations, season 2 managed to surpass them and deserves even more praise. The show’s first season helped establish its stressful tone and complicated characters, but season 2 managed to go above and beyond this. By focusing on character-specific episodes, the likes of Marcus and Richie’s stories became deeper, and it helped them become even more likable. The Bear‘s guest stars were also crucial to season 2’s success, as big names like Bob Odenkirk, Olivia Colman, Jon Bernthal, Jamie Lee Curtis, and Will Poulter all had standout performances that were important to the overall narrative.

Season 2 managing to outshine its predecessor makes it even more likely it will pick up further Emmys in 2024. Not only did the main cast arguably have better performances, but the show also has a strong chance of picking up awards in the guest actor categories as well. The show’s momentum certainly hasn’t slowed down, and it is likely to be the most decorated show of the year. This all helps set up an even bigger third season and if season 2 manages to sweep up more awards, The Bear will be on course to become an all-time classic.
