The Batman Introduces A Death In The Family Style Joker In Grisly Fan Poster

The Batman Introduces A Death In The Family Style Joker In Grisly Fan Poster

A grisly new fan poster for The Batman introduces a Death in the Family-style Joker. Batman has been depicted in film and television numerous times, but that hasn’t stopped audiences from wanting more. The latest iteration of Batman will be played by Robert Pattinson and arrive next year in The Batman. Directed by Matt Reeves, The Batman will focus on Bruce Wayne in his second year as the Caped Crusader as he investigates a string of murders within Gotham. Reeves recently debuted the first trailer for The Batman, and fans seemed largely enthusiastic about what it contained.

The Batman’s main villain looks to be the Riddler (Paul Dano), but several other members of Batman’s rogues gallery will be featured in the action. There’s the Penguin (Colin Farrell) and Catwoman (Zoë Kravtiz), as well as Carmine Falcone (John Turturro). However, Batman’s most notorious adversary, the Joker, won’t be present this time around. As Reeves is planning for at least a trilogy, there’s hope among fans that the Joker will be around for the sequels. However, as so much is unknown, things are wide open for fans to imagine what they would like to see.

This Batman fan poster comes courtesy of BossLogic and imagines a Joker straight from Death in the Family. The iconic comic book storyline saw the Joker kidnap Jason Todd and torture him with a crowbar before killing him in a warehouse explosion. Jason’s death had a huge impact on Bruce, as well as comic book fans because, at the time, they could call a hotline and vote for whether or not Jason should live. You can see the Batman fan poster down below.

Death in the Family will be getting the animated treatment later this year, but it hasn’t yet been adapted into live-action. It might be interesting to see a future Batman movie with Pattinson that draws from Death in the Family, but he’ll need a Robin first in order to make it work. As The Batman begins with Bruce’s early days as a hero, it might take some time for him to get a sidekick.

Still, this poster is a prime example of why fans are so excited for The Batman. Reeves has promised his Batman will be unlike any other that came before, and its distance from the DCEU allows greater freedom for the stories it can tell. While it remains to be seen what will happen after The Batman is released next year, there are a whole plethora of opportunities for Reeves to choose from. Could Pattinson’s Batman cross paths with the Joker someday? Fans certainly hope so.
