A new fan poster for The Batman – Part II imagines the movie taking place in a snow-covered Gotham City. While The Batman – Part II was announced shortly after the release and success of The Batman, no details except its October 2025 release date have been revealed. Despite unsubstantiated rumors swirling about who the villain might be, audiences will have to wait for information about what Bruce Wayne’s next challenge will be in director Matt Reeves’ next DC Elseworlds movie. Of course, that hasn’t stopped rampant speculation and fan artists making their case for what the movie could include.

Artist jaxsonderr posted their own interpretation of a poster for The Batman – Part II, and the design goes along with the holiday season in which it was released. See the full piece below:

The poster sees Batman standing on in a city park, looking out at the Gotham City skyline. Moreover, the hard snowfall sets the scene and maybe even teases a classic Batman villain rumored for the movie. The Batman redeemed the Riddler on the big screen after Jim Carrey’s version pushed a bit too far into the farcical in 1995, and The Batman – Part II could follow suit with Mr. Freeze.

Why Mr. Freeze Makes Sense For The Batman 2

Arnold Schwarzenegger did the best he could with Mr. Freeze in 1997’s Batman and Robin, but the character and script simply didn’t present a compelling version of what should be a complex villain. While Freeze’s cryo suit and weaponry may not be terribly realistic, his motivations are surprisingly human. In the best interpretations of the character, including the classic Batman: The Animated Series episode “Heart of Ice,” Freeze is a man pushed to crime to try and fund his research for his wife, who is cryogenically frozen until he can figure out a cure for her illness.

Moreover, the end of The Batman may have actually set up a compelling visual setting for Mr. Freeze. Gotham is largely underwater, and if the flooding doesn’t go down before winter, the city could find itself covered in ice. Mr. Freeze doesn’t require ice to function, but the visual connection would give The Batman – Part II a unique look and follow in Batman Returns’ footsteps as a Batman sequel taking place around Christmas. Of course, with the movie not releasing for another two years, it’s possible the flood plot will be well and over. Only time will tell which villain gets their time in the spotlight next.
