Warning! This post contains SPOILERS for The Bad Batch season 3, episode 2.
Star Wars: The Bad Batch season 3 premiered with a three-episode release on February 21st, and although the latest Star Wars premiere included a highly anticipated Boba Fett cameo, his appearance wasn’t quite what audiences expected. The Bad Batch season 2 ending left Clone Force 99 with numerous cliffhangers, including the death of clone trooper Tech, the abduction of Omega by the Empire, and an ominous but unclear plan by Emperor Palpatine. With so much up in the air, there was intense speculation that fan-favorite Boba Fett would return, perhaps even coming to the rescue of his clone siblings.
Boba Fett has had celebrated returns to the Star Wars galaxy in recent years, most notably in The Book of Boba Fett, so it was reasonably likely that this final season of The Bad Batch would incorporate him. His appearance was even more probable given that The Bad Batch focuses on the clones, particularly Omega who, like Boba Fett, is ‘unaltered.’ Fett was also active during this period of the Star Wars timeline, already working as a bounty hunter. Despite that, Fett’s secret blink-and-you-miss-it cameo in The Bad Batch season 3 wasn’t quite the return audiences anticipated.

The Bad Batch Season 3 Premiere Ending Explained: Omega’s Force Connection & Palpatine’s Plan
Star Wars: The Bad Batch season 3’s premiere shakes Star Wars history to the core. But what does the ending mean for Omega and Palpatine?
The Bad Batch Season 3 Brought Back A Classic Boba Fett Actor

The Bad Batch season 3, episode 2 “Paths Unknown” introduced a new character, Mox, who is a junior clone cadet in hiding from the Empire after the destruction of Kamino. During their search for Omega, Hunter and Wrecker encounter two young clones who explain that, before its destruction, they were taken off Kamino by the Empire, held as prisoners, and forced to give samples of their blood. They mention a third clone, Mox, who may be able to assist the Bad Batch on their mission to track down Omega.
The two clones then lead Clone Force 99 to Mox, who is voiced by none other than Daniel Logan, who played young Boba Fett in Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones. Although technically a Boba Fett Easter egg, it isn’t quite the Fett cameo that many were hoping for, particularly because the character isn’t truly Boba Fett. Even so, this connection could signal that a Boba Fett appearance is coming.
Will Boba Fett Himself Appear In The Bad Batch Season 3?

It remains to be seen whether Boba Fett himself will return in The Bad Batch season 3, but the show would still have plenty of reason to incorporate him. While it seems that he won’t be part of Omega’s rescue, despite speculation that he may be, given his status as a bounty hunter and connection to the clones, his inclusion in this final chapter of the clone troopers’ story would be more than earned. Particularly given the nod to Boba Fett through Daniel Logan’s cameo, The Bad Batch may be hinting in that very direction.
