The Bachelor: Clues Matt James May Be A Fake Nice Guy

Is it possible The Bachelor season 25 lead Matt James isn’t as honest or genuine as he acts on the show? Many fans may have seen his infamous video on Instagram in which his friend body shames one of his suitors Victoria Larson. The commercial real estate agent doesn’t hit back at the troll and simply carries on with his game. Since people have also found him lying previously, it appears that he is just pretending to be a nice guy.

Many The Bachelor viewers were super excited when the franchise finally cast its first black Bachelor for season 25. And when the 29-year-old Matt showed his genuine nervousness and kind personality in episode one, he won fans over But things have changed in the last few days. He was first caught lying on the camera to one of his suitors about his favorite animal. He said his favorite animal was a “panda bear,” but for the promo of The Bachelor, he said his favorite animal is “sea turtles.” Is it a white lie, or a sign of something greater?

He also made the decision to send Marylynn home after getting manipulated by Victoria. Without going in-depth or understanding the root cause of the problem, he said goodbye to a worthy suitor. Marylynn deserved to stay more than Victoria, although it’s almost certain Matt has no say in when he can get rid of Victoria. Otherwise, he would have done so night one. A similar thing happened with Sarah Trott when she clearly mentioned to Matt that other cast members were being mean to her. He should have taken a stand at the moment and tackled the situation. But, The Bachelor newbie decided to stay mum. Victoria has been bullying other girls for the last four episodes, but Matt chose not to address the situation or ask probing questions.

Most recently, Matt was again caught tight-lipped when one of his friends named Jerry body shamed Victoria during a golf outing. The Bachelor lead apologized on his friend’s behalf and said, “I said something to him off-camera about it. Something along the lines of, ‘Victoria wouldn’t have given him a second look.’ It’s always the pot calling the kettle black.” Again, the way he tackled the situation with his friend isn’t nice. Does it not appear that while apparently defending Victoria, Matt tried to body shame his friend? He didn’t have to mention his looks to make him understand that body-shaming isn’t cool.

And if he was portraying a bad boy persona on The Bachelor, nobody would waste their time calling him out. But, he and his friend Tyler Cameron feature a good guy image on TV and social media, so it’s expected of them to defend women and condemn body shaming! Not off-camera, but right when the bullying or body shaming happens. Otherwise, The Bachelor Matt James is just another fake nice guy.
