Warning! Spoilers for Avengers #57 and Marvel’s upcoming Judgment Day event

The Avengers are about to meet History’s Mightiest Heroes, as Marvel Comics will introduce some of the greatest heroes from across the Multiverse whose stories haven’t yet been told. In a new tease for the upcoming Avengers #57 building into the upcoming Judgment Day event, the new versions of the Avengers are showcased, as the group will team up with Earth’s Mightiest Heroes to stop Mephisto’s ultimate plan.

The Avengers are set to face off against the Eternals and X-Men in the upcoming Judgment Day event, which will see the superteams duke it out following conflict involving resurrection protocols and the Avengers Celestial headquarters. However, before that occurs, the Avengers will meet History’s Mightiest Heroes, different Avengers from across the Multiverse who will play a key role in the upcoming takeover from Mephisto. With Marvel’s Devil assembling the Multiversal Masters of Evil and getting ready to finally act on his long-awaited plans, Earth’s Mightiest Heroes will get some help from some familiar but different faces across the timeline.

In a batch of new previews from Marvel Comics, a new look at the upcoming Avengers #57 by Jason Aaron and Javier Garron was shared. The preview shares a first look at History’s Mightiest Heroes, who will assist the Avengers against Mephisto as they are lost throughout time. In addition, the cover from Garron features looks at some new heroes, including the mystical man of war, Sgt. Szardos, a new Soldier Supreme of World War II, who has his own “grunt squad,” the Secret Invaders. Check out Garron’s cover below, which features a lot of Marvel Avengers from across the Multiverse.

Besides the names mentioned above, History’s Mightiest Heroes also features an alternative version of Thor wielding Jarnbjorn, a cowboy version of Starbrand and Echo, and a version of Iron Fist. Also noteworthy is in the bottom right corner, Nighthawk, from the recent Heroes Reborn saga, can also be seen, which will seemingly bridge the new Avengers story with his excellent crossover miniseries – although, it might be a variant of the hero from the Multiverse.

Jason Aaron and Javier Garron’s upcoming run on Avengers looks to be planning big things ahead of Judgment Day. With the introduction of History’s Mightiest Heroes, the comic will take readers on another wild ride featuring plenty of Multiversal heroes and villains. It will be interesting to see how History’s Mightiest Heroes were chosen and what role they will have in the Avengers’ upcoming fight against Mephisto. Avengers #57 is in stores in July.
