The 15 New Star Wars Planets Introduced In The Mandalorian (& Where They Are In The Star Wars Galaxy)

The 15 New Star Wars Planets Introduced In The Mandalorian (& Where They Are In The Star Wars Galaxy)

The Star Wars galaxy has greatly expanded ever since the debut of The Mandalorian, with the live-action Star Wars TV show now having introduced 15 brand-new planets to the galaxy. Pedro Pascal’s Din Djarin has the chance to travel around the galaxy often in The Mandalorian due to his occupation as a bounty hunter, as well as his days spent on the run from other hunters and Imperial Remnants with Grogu. Whether it be in his trusty old Razor Crest or the refurbished N-1 starfighter, Din’s adventures have introduced a whopping total of 15 new planets to the Star Wars galaxy so far.

From The Mandalorian season 1 to its most recent season 3, Din’s travels have taken him from the Outer Rim of the galaxy to the Deep Core. Some of the planets he visits, such as Tython and even Mandalore, were previously established, but saw their live-action debut in this TV show. Most of the planets, though, are brand-new, and here’s all 15 of them – and where exactly they’re located in the Star Wars galaxy.

15 Pagodon

First Appeared: Season 1, Episode 1 “Chapter 1: The Mandalorian”

The 15 New Star Wars Planets Introduced In The Mandalorian (& Where They Are In The Star Wars Galaxy)

Pagodon is the icy planet on which Star Wars viewers are first introduced to Din Djarin, following along with his acquisition of the Mythrol and his first utterance of “I can bring you in warm, or I can bring you in cold.” The planet is located in the Outer Rim Territories, the collection of planets located on the farthest outskirts of the galaxy. Pagodon is only visited once so far in The Mandalorian, and it’s the home of creatures such as the ravinak, which Din fights off the Razor Crest using his Amban phase-pulse blaster rifle.

14 Nevarro

First Appeared: Season 1, Episode 1 “Chapter 1: The Mandalorian”

Nevarro is easily the most visited planet in The Mandalorian, and it established itself as the show’s home base early on. At the time of The Mandalorian season 1, the Bounty Hunter’s Guild operates out of Nevarro under Greef Karga’s watchful eye, and with each new season comes a new transformation of the planet and its town from a seedy bounty hunter hive to a flourishing trade anchor. Nevarro is known for its lava flats and rivers, and despite its importance to The Mandalorian, it’s one of the few planets that hasn’t yet been given an official location within the galaxy – other than the fact it sits in the Outer Rim Territories on the Hydian Way.

13 Aq Vetina

First Appeared: Season 1, Episode 1 “Chapter 1: The Mandalorian”

Din Djarin's homeworld of Aq Vetina in The Mandalorian season 1

Though its name is never mentioned in The Mandalorian, Aq Vetina is the original homeworld of Din Djarin, where the Mandalorians rescued him from Separatist battle droids. The planet has only been seen in flashbacks thus far, and its name is derived from various Star Wars sourcebooks. Aq Vetina’s location in the Outer Rim has recently been revealed by a new map of the Star Wars galaxy provided in Pablo Hidalgo’s Dawn of Rebellion sourcebook, which sets the planet between Ajan Kloss and Dantooine.

12 Arvala-7

First Appeared: Season 1, Episode 1 “Chapter 1: The Mandalorian”

Arvala-7 is the planet where Din finds Grogu in The Mandalorian, and also the homeworld of the Ugnaught Kuiil. The planet contains creatures such as blurrgs and mudhorns, the latter of which goes on to become Din’s signet on his armor. Arvala-7 is in the Outer Rim Territories and sits between Scarif and Ryloth, two well-known planets from Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and Star Wars: The Clone Wars respectively.

11 Karnac

First Mentioned: Season 1, Episode 3 “Chapter 3: The Sin”

Din Djarin and Greef Karga talk about Karnac in The Mandalorian season 1

While the planet is only briefly mentioned in The Mandalorian, Karnac is an Outer Rim planet known for its ocean dunes. Greef Karga names the planet as the place where a nobleman’s son is hiding out, and Din is meant to travel there before he ultimately decides to stay on Nevarro and rescue Grogu. Despite only being mentioned, Karnac has been placed on the newest galaxy map, and it’s set between Lothal and Eadu.

10 Sorgan

First Appeared: Season 1, Episode 4 “Chapter 4: Sanctuary”

Sorgan, described as a “backwater skug hole” by Din, is an Outer Rim planet known for its farming – particularly its krill ponds. The planet is sparsely populated, with one small collection of huts functioning as its civic center and a farm where characters such as Omera live. Din hides out on the planet for a few weeks after helping the farmers fight off a band of Klatooinian raiders, but he and Grogu are forced to leave when a bounty hunter finds them there. Sorgan is located near a cluster of familiar planets such as Tatooine and Geonosis.

9 Maldo Kreis

First Appeared: Season 2, Episode 2 “Chapter 10: The Passenger”

The Razor Crest flies towards Maldo Kreis in The Mandalorian season 2

Maldo Kreis is the ice planet where Din’s Razor Crest crashes while being pursued by Captain Carson Teva’s and Trapper Wolf’s X-wings. The planet houses warm springs and giant ice spiders amidst its freezing temperatures, making the harsh environment difficult to live in. Maldo Kreis is located between Tatooine and Trask, as Din is making the journey between the two planets at the time he’s chased there.

8 Kol Iben

First Appeared: Season 2, Episode 3 “Chapter 11: The Heiress”

The gas giant Kol Iben in The Mandalorian

Kol Iben is a gas giant orbited by the moon of Trask, first mentioned by Peli Motto in The Mandalorian season 2, episode 2. While The Mandalorian never technically visits the planet, it can be seen in the opening scene of season 2, episode 3 as the Razor Crest makes its approach to Trask. The planet sits in the Outer Rim, specifically within the Arkanis sector.

7 Trask

First Appeared: Season 2, Episode 3 “Chapter 11: The Heiress”

The moon of Trask in The Mandalorian season 2

Trask is a moon orbiting the gas giant of Kol Iben, known mostly for its vast seas and its busy port. Din comes across Bo-Katan Kryze and two of her Nite Owls here, where they intercept an Imperial transport to both take its weapons and use the ship for their future plans of reclaiming Mandalore. Like Kol Iben, Trask is located in the Arkanis sector of the Outer Rim, very close to both Tatooine and Geonosis.

6 Corvus

First Appeared: Season 2, Episode 5 “Chapter 13: The Jedi”

Corvus is the forested planet that houses the city of Calodan, where Ahsoka Tano is seeking to gain information from the cruel Magistrate Morgan Elsbeth. Din is pointed in the direction of Corvus by Bo-Katan, and there, Ahsoka tells him the planet was laid to waste by the magistrate on behalf of the Imperial fleet. Corvus is located within the Outer Room, neighboring the planet of Felucia.

5 Karthon

First Appeared: Season 2, Episode 7 “Chapter 15: The Believer”

The Karthon Chop Fields as featured in The Mandalorian season 2

Karthon is a moon that houses the Karthon Chop Fields, where the New Republic places prisoners to assist in dismantling old pieces of Imperial technology. The Mandalorian briefly visits the moon to pick up Migs Mayfeld for their mission to Morak, where he’s serving his time after being imprisoned by Din in season 1. Karthon is located in the Outer Rim, close to Endor and not too far away from Batuu.

4 Morak

First Appeared: Season 2, Episode 7 “Chapter 15: The Believer”

Mandalorian Concept Art Mine Morak

Morak is a jungle planet rich in rhydonium, a highly volatile and explosive element most often refined into fuel. The planet houses an Imperial refinery that Din and Mayfeld infiltrate to get the coordinates to Moff Gideon’s light cruiser, resulting in Din breaking his Mandalorian Creed. Din’s crew leaves Mayfeld on Morak as a gesture of gratitude for his help in the mission. Morak is located in between Endor and Bespin, sitting in the Outer Rim Territories.

3 Unnamed Mandalorian Covert Hideout

First Appeared: Season 3, Episode 1 “Chapter 17: The Apostate”

The unnamed planet where the Mandalorian covert lived in The Mandalorian season 3

Though the planet has yet to be identified by name, the home base of Din’s covert in The Mandalorian season 3 is visited often, with season 3, episode 4 spending its entire story there. The planet is mostly defined by sandy beaches and jagged rock structures, as well as a deep cave where the Armorer keeps her forge. Presumably, this planet sits in the Outer Rim, though it has yet to gain a precise location within the greater galaxy.

2 Adelphi

First Appeared: Season 3, Episode 5 “Chapter 21: The Pirate”

The Adelphi outpost in The Mandalorian season 3

First mentioned by Carson Teva in The Mandalorian season 2, Adelphi is the tropical planet from which many New Republic rangers operate. The Adelphi Outpost is essentially the home base of rangers who patrol the Outer Rim, sitting just outside the Mid Rim and nearly neighboring Sorgan. This planet is also where Garazeb “Zeb” Orrelios is currently operating, which is one of the many reasons why it’s likely to be visited quite often in the future of Star Wars.

1 Plazir-15

First Appeared: Season 3, Episode 6 “Chapter 22: Guns For Hire”

Plazir-15 as seen in The Mandalorian

Plazir-15 is a planet rich with ponds and green plains, though most, if not all, of its citizens live in domed cities. The main city on the planet is a monarchy with direct democracy, helmed by the Duchess and Captain Bombardier. Bo-Katan’s former Mandalorian allies are housed on the planet, until her duel with Axe Woves and acquisition of the Darksaber earns their favor back. While Din’s adventure on this planet in The Mandalorian is certainly considered controversial, the job he and Bo-Katan complete there has granted Mandalore recognition as an independent planet by the Duchess.
