The 10 Funniest Quotes In The Ant-Man Movies

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is known for delivering the laughs and few characters do that better than Ant-Man. While most other superheroes handle world-ending situations with dire consequences, movies about Scott Lang are usually more lighthearted, which opens the door for comedy and hilarious lines.

Casting Paul Rudd as the protagonist is always going to help the funny factor but everyone else involved also gets some great lines that fans laugh at for hours after the credits roll. In fact, many of the comedic lines in these movies rank among the funniest in the entire MCU, which is saying something.

An Embarrassed Sam Wilson

“It’s Really Important To Me That Cap Never Finds Out About This.” – Sam Wilson

The 10 Funniest Quotes In The Ant-Man Movies

It’s pretty standard these days for MCU characters to randomly pop up in films and TV shows about other heroes. However, not many expected 2015’s Ant-Man to include a cameo from Sam Wilson, who had just made his debut in the prior year’s Captain America: The Winter Soldier.

He’s at the Avengers Complex when Scott arrives to steal something and the two get into a fight that actually leads to Scott’s appearance in Captain America: Civil War. When Scott wins and succeeds in his plan, Sam radios in to make sure that nobody ever hears that he lost to someone the size of an ant.

Scott Can’t Believe He’s Not Trusted As Much

“Hold On, You Gave Her Wings?!” – Scott Lang

Ant-Man and the Wasp standing side by side.

The relationship between Scott Lang and Hank Pym has always been a fun one. They play off each other well and though they work together, you know that Hank still feels like his daughter Hope is more trustworthy.

That was clear in Ant-Man and the Wasp when Hope first donned the Wasp suit in front of Scott. While watching her kick butt, Scott uttered this line, shocked that Hope had wings. To make it even funnier, Hank confirmed that he had that tech available for Scott, he just didn’t give it to him.

The Obvious Call Nobody Makes

“Okay, The First Thing We Should Do…Is Call The Avengers.” – Scott Lang

Scott and Hank in Ant-Man

After 2012’s The Avengers, nearly every MCU movie that followed left fans with the same question. “Why not just bring the team together again?” Certain films had smaller stakes that didn’t require everyone like Iron Man 3 but people still wondered.

Apparently, so did Scott Lang. When he first hears about the threat that Darren Cross poses, his reaction is to suggest calling in the team. It’s a funny line because those watching have likely asked it themselves a few times.

Scott’s Daily Activities

“He’s Programmed To Replicate Your Daily Routine. Nine Hours In Bed. Five Hours In Front Of The T.V. Two Hours In The Bathroom, Whatever That’s About.” – Hope Van Dyne

The giant ant playing the drum in Ant-Man and the Wasp

Throughout Ant-Man and the Wasp, Scott is on house arrest, which makes the idea of him going on an adventure difficult to pull off. Thankfully, Hope and Hank have programmed a giant ant, fitted with Scott’s ankle monitor, to replicate Scott’s daily activities.

That includes Hope discussing the things that he does, which involves spending nine hours in his bed, several hours watching TV, and more time in the bathroom than most people. Hope’s comical delivery helps make this work so well.

He Has A Trophy To Prove It

“You Can Do Anything. You’re The World’s Greatest Grandma.” – Cassie Lang

Cassie Lang in Ant-Man 2

The relationship between Scott and his daughter Cassie Lang is easily one of the most adorable in the franchise. They are just too pure together and while it makes sense that Cassie has grown up and been recast for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, fans will surely miss this dynamic.

At one point in the sequel, Scott shows off a trophy that Cassie presented him with, which hilariously says “World’s Greatest Grandma.” That makes Cassie calling back to it during a pep talk so funny because it is cute, motivational, and straight-up hilarious.

They Don’t Miss A Thing

“Baskin-Robbins Always Find Out.” – Luis

Scott Lang working at Baskin-Robbins

Early on in the first film, Scott gets fired from his lame job at Baskin-Robbins. It happens after his boss finds out the truth about his criminal record and  drops the line, “Baskin-Robbins always finds out.”

On its own, that is pretty funny but it gets taken to the next level in the very next scene. Scott returns home to his friend Luis and when he explains what happened, Luis says the same thing as the manager. It’s as if everyone in the MCU just knows that you can’t hide anything from Baskin-Robbins.

Scott Makes A New Friend

“I’m Gonna Call Him Antony.” – Scott Lang

Ant-Man riding Antony the ant in Ant-Man

Watching Hank get flustered and annoyed whenever Scott cracks a joke is one of the funniest aspects of the first film. He’s trying his best to train someone to take over this dangerous job and Scott is there to keep things light.

So, it’s a great moment when Hank hears that Scott chooses to name one of the ants “Antony.” It’s the perfect Scott Lang character moment and it actually makes the audience feel something when Antony dies. Scott names an ant in the sequel as well, calling him “Ulysses S. Gr-Ant.”

Hank Has Jokes

“Hiya, Champ, How Was School Today?” – Hank Pym

Scott Lang small in a van

A delightful scene in Ant-Man and the Wasp sees the titular characters infiltrate Cassie’s school, only for Scott’s suit to malfunction. He ends up being roughly the size of a kid in kindergarten, which is even funnier since he’s wearing an oversized hoodie.

After they get what they went in for, tiny Scott enters the van and Hank has this quip ready. He even offers a juice box to Scott as if he’s truly a kid getting picked up from school. Scott’s response is also great, asking if Hank really had treats for him.

Scott Points Out The Obvious

“Hats And Sunglasses? That’s Not A Disguise, Hank. We Look Like Ourselves At A Baseball Game.” – Scott Lang

Scott, Hope, and Hank wearing disguises in Ant-Man and the Wasp

Far too often in TV and movies do characters attempt to disguise themselves only to put little to no effort into what they wear. Take Clark Kent simply putting on glasses to not appear as Superman. Scott was quick to point it out when Hank chose their outfits.

Like he did when he said they should call the Avengers, Scott is sure to discuss the obvious. The disguise in question was just putting on glasses and a baseball cap, which doesn’t really hide the two from anyone who really wants to find them.

The Bright Side

“But I Got The Van Though.” – Luis

Luis Van Ant-Man

There’s no doubt that Luis is among the funniest supporting characters in the MCU. Take almost any line from one of his fun stories and you’re bound to be in stitches. He quickly establishes his mindset in the very first scene involving him.

Luis picks Scott up from prison and the former cellmates catch up. Luis explains that his girlfriend dumped him, his mom died, and his dad got deported, but he breaks the tension by excitedly noting that he at least has the van.
