This one is for the collectors. Featuring the most famous robot on earth (probably?), this LEGO Star Wars set shows R2-D2 in all its glory. Standing over 12.5 inches tall, this is a great display piece that should appeal to collectors. The set comes with an information plaque and a special LucasFilm 50th Anniversary LEGO brick.

R2-D2 has been upgraded from previous LEGO sets and offers a few more quirky features. The best out of the lot has to be the hidden compartment in R2-D2’s head which hides Luke Skywalker’s lightsaber. Other detailed touches include a rotating head, retractable mid-leg, opening and extendable front hatches, and R2’s trusted periscope. A lot of these features are moveable and LEGO has done a brilliant job at representing R2 as truly as possible.

Although there are no other mini-figures or extra components, this set consists of 2,314 pieces in total, which is more than enough to get your thinking cap on. It’ll take around 4-5 hours to complete.

2. LEGO Star Wars Death Star 75159 Space Station

The LEGO Star Wars Death Star is perhaps one of the most detailed sets on our list. Depicting multiple battles throughout its core, the Death Star set is action-packed and there is something new to see every time you look. Amounting to over 4,000 pieces, this is one of the larger sets on our list with a build time that will take around 3–4 days if you want to have a few breaks in between.

In our opinion, the best thing about this particular set is the amount of characters that are included. There are 25 different characters included, such as Emperor Palpatine, Han Solo, 2 versions of Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader, and Obi-Wan Kenobi to name but a few. Also, the set comes with Vader’s TIE Advanced spaceship, so you can continue the drama out with the Death Star itself, a fun little feature.

When fully built, this set stands 16 inches tall and 16 inches wide, so it will take up quite a bit of room on your mantelpiece. Although this set will look great as a display piece, we think it would best suit a younger Star Wars fan who is looking to get hands-on and play with the thing. There are so many moveable features like the trash compactor, moveable laser towers, and turbo lasers with spring-loaded shooters that it would be such a shame to not use them. However, this set does command a hefty price tag, so purchasing it as a child’s toy will not be an option for most.

In our first introduction to Master Yoda, this diorama depicts Luke’s training as he tries to focus his mind to master the force after meeting Yoda on the Dagobah system. The diorama sits in a wider LEGO Star Wars collection, if you appreciate this piece there are more out there which are all designed to spark sci-fi nostalgia.

Consisting of 1,000 pieces in total, there are two main areas of focus this diorama depicts. Luke Skywalker’s broken down X-Wing which is sticking out of the Dagobah swamp and Yoda’s little hut. As expected, the mini-figures included in this set are Luke Skywalker, R2-D2 and Master Yoda. Accompanying the diorama is a commemorative plaque which features Yoda’s great words of wisdom, ‘Do. C’mon, you surely didn’t think we could miss out the Millennium Falcon, did you? This LEGO set truly deserves a place on our list, clocking in at 7541 pieces, it is the biggest set we have included. As expected with a LEGO set this size, the detailing is incredible. For example, most of the Falcon’s roof panels are removable, so you can get right in between the action. You can access the main hold where you will find a seating area, the Dejarik holographic game, and a combat remote training helmet area.

It doesn’t stop there, as you can open up the cockpit and get right behind the ship’s controls and position the mini figures in whatever scenario you see fit. The removable top panels are a very well-thought-out addition because, after all, there is so much detail inside the Falcon, you will want to marvel at all the small intricacies now and again. As for mini-figures, you get two different crews from the sagas both old and new: Han Solo, Rey, Finn, BB-8, Chewbacca, Princess Leia, and C-3PO are all included which is a nice touch.

This is one of the more expensive LEGO Star Wars sets on our list but fear not as we think you get your money’s worth. This will probably take upwards of 30 hours to fully assemble, and when completed stands at 23.6-inches wide and 32.6-inches long, so it certainly gives your money’s worth. The Mos Eisley Cantina is the first place that a fresh-faced Luke Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi travel to after they meet in Episode One. In the midst of a bustling port city, the Cantina is brimming with criminals, smugglers, and bounty hunters all looking for their next payday. This particular LEGO Star Wars set does a brilliant job of depicting the grizzly characters and authentic details that Star Wars fans will know and love.

When thinking of the famous Tatooine tavern there is one thing that immediately springs to mind, the Cantina band’s background music (we know you’re currently singing it in your head). Well, when we realized this set comes with 21 LEGO mini-figures, including the alien band, our hearts were won over! Not only that, this set includes a whole host of features like two Land speeders, two attachable buildings, and a LEGO Dewback figure that is both exciting to play with and display.

When fully constructed and opened up, this set measures at 20.5-inches wide with 3,187 pieces in total, so make sure you have plenty of room set aside.

If you are looking to re-create an iconic Star Wars scene, you can get pretty accurate with this set, the attention to detail LEGO put in creating the Cantina is admirable. Perhaps unsurprisingly, the LEGO Star Wars AT-AT walker is the tallest item on our list when fully built. Measuring over 24.5 inches tall when fully built, this is a really exciting LEGO set that many Star Wars fans will have been waiting for. To show off the details of the internal body, there are removable panels on the side of the AT-AT which exposes different sections. LEGO reckons you can fit up to 40 mini-figures within the AT-AT, so if you are a collector and enjoy mixing and matching, you should test this out for size.

The set itself comes with 9 different mini-figures including General Veers, a Snow trooper commander, 4 Snow troopers, 2 AT-AT drivers, and Luke Skywalker dressed in his rebel X-wing fighter costume. Although it may look relatively simple, this set consists of 6,785 pieces, so it is quite complex and will require many hours invested in its construction.

Our favorite thing about this LEGO AT-AT is its movability. It features posable legs and head and rotating cannons which you can point in any direction you see fit. The bomb-drop hatch is a nice touch, and you can recreate Luke Skywalker’s famous grapple hook scene with the hook that is included.

The LEGO Star Wars Republic Gunship is one of the few sets on our list that features an object from the prequels. The Low Altitude Assault Transport ship — to give it its proper name — served as a reliable ship during the Clone Wars. Its main purpose was to transport troops to and from the battlefield and throughout the movies, we saw Anakin, Obi-Wan, and Padmé frequently use the ship.

LEGO has accurately recreated the LAAT gunship — to use its abbreviation — to an impressive degree. The first thing that comes to our mind when thinking of this ship is the double cockpit bubbles where both pilots sit, and pleasingly for us, are present on this model. You can open and close the cockpits as you like, changing the pilots depending on who is most trusted in your crew.

The set has 3,292 pieces altogether, and although not the biggest on our list, it will take you over 9 hours to complete.

You do only get two mini-figures in this set, but they are good ones; Mace Windu with his iconic purple lightsaber and a Republic Gunship Clone Trooper Commander, to make sure the ship is flown safely and efficiently. If we had one slight criticism of this model when fully built, it would be its fragility. The model is quite fragile and doesn’t take too kindly to transportation, which is slightly ironic considering its purpose.

If you saw the Lambda-class Imperial shuttle dock into your planet’s space station, you knew you were in trouble. Entrusted with carrying the Empire’s Elite, including Darth Vader and Emperor Palpatine, the Lambda-class Imperial Shuttle wasn’t a sight any Rebel wanted to see.

LEGO has dedicated this set to creating a highly-detailed miniature version of the Imperial Shuttle, and it will bring joy to any Star Wars fan’s heart. Consisting of 2,503 precisely constructed LEGO pieces, this Shuttle is created for display. So much so, LEGO has included a stand for display. You can decide whether you want to display the ship in flying or landing mode.

There is a ton of fantastic features like the rotating double laser wing cannons, four-seat cockpit, and gear-driven folding wings. When constructed, the Imperial Shuttle stands at 28 inches tall (on the stand) and 22 inches wide. If you are purchasing this for display, you’ll be happy to know there is a labeled display plaque that will explain to your Star Wars-loathing friends what they are looking at.

Like all great LEGO Star Wars sets, there are mini-figures included. Since this is an Imperial Shuttle you won’t be surprised to hear it is Darth Vader, an Imperial Office, a Shuttle Pilot, and a Storm trooper that’s included. However, this is Star Wars after all, so the good side of things is represented through Luke Skywalker. This model is actually discontinued by the manufacturer making this an increasingly rare and expensive set. If you have been considering this for a while, you won’t get too many more chances to snap this up.

9. LEGO 6210 Star Wars Jabba’s Sail Barge

Made by the Ubrikkian Industries and modified to suit the needs of Jabba the Hutt, the sail barge was introduced to us in Episode VI: Return of the Jedi. After a series of failed rescue missions, Hutt crime Lord, Jabba the Hutt decides to execute Luke Skywalker and company at the menacingly evil Great Pit of Carkoon. Lurking at the bottom of the pit was the Sarlacc, an alien creature with an untold amount of gnarly teeth who was going to be fed the prisoners. If you’re reading this, you probably know what happens next, if not, we won’t spoil it for you.

The LEGO Star Wars Jabba’s Sail Barge set features all the iconic ships, creatures, and characters mentioned above. Consisting of 781 LEGO pieces in total, the set comes with the sail barge, Sarlacc pit, desert skiff, and 8 mini-figures.

This is one of the smaller sets on our list, so it’s not going to take you long to build, we reckon it will be around 2–3 hours to fully construct. The best thing about this set is the sail barge itself, it has opening panels that reveal Jabba the Hut and Princess Leia watching on as Luke Skywalker walks the plank over the Sarlacc. The Sarlacc pit itself is a fun addition and its jaw’s open and close to recreate the terror. This product is getting quite hard to find, so the price is going up accordingly. If you are looking for a rare collector’s item, then this is a good option.

10. LEGO Star Wars: The Mandalorian The Razor Crest 75292

One of the more affordable LEGO Star Wars sets on our list and the only one to feature something from a spinoff, The Razor Crest deserves a place on our list. For those who haven’t seen The Mandalorian, the Razor Crest is the ship piloted by Mando (Din Djarin), the series protagonist.

We are particularly besotted with this set because of the included mini-figures. There are 5 mini-figures included; Mando, Greef Karga, a Scout Trooper, IG-11, and the real star of the show, Grogu! If you didn’t think Grogu could get any cuter, you really need to see his LEGO mini-figurine, it’s adorable.

This set comprises 1,023 pieces altogether, and considering it is one of the lesser expensive sets on our list, we are really impressed with that. There are far more expensive sets on our list that have fewer pieces, so good job LEGO! When fully constructed, the Razor Crest measures over 5.5 inches high and 15 inches long. Like all great ships, there are 2 spring-loaded shooters to play with and an opening cargo hold for storing those unfortunate carbonite bounties who have been captured by Mando.

If you are considering purchasing a younger Star Wars fan a LEGO set with the intention of playing with, this is a great option. It is particularly sturdy, especially compared with other ships on our list, so it should survive numerous play dates.
