ABC’s hit reality dating spinoff show Bachelor in Paradise is on track to return to the airwaves for season 8 in the summer of 2022. At last blush, only two couples agreed to remain engaged following the season 7 finale, including fan favorites Joe Amabile and Serena Pitt and Kenny Braasch and Mari Pepin.
After garnering so much love from viewers as the winning and unwavering power couples, it’s worth wondering how the romantic pairs of seasons past also rank among fans of Bachelor in Paradise. It’s no surprise that most of the online community’s favorite couples are still together and going strong today.
Astrid & Kevin
Although they decided not to get engaged in the season 5 finale of the popular reality dating show, overwhelming fan favorites Astrid Loch and Kevin Wendt reunited after the show concluded and got engaged one year later. They welcomed their first child in November 2021. In a Reddit poll asking fans who their favorite BIP couple is, Astrid and Kevin got 2.8k votes, nearly triple the next closest couple.
Whether it’s FindTheRiver80 saying “Astrid and Kevin are head and shoulders above the rest,” or jdiz16 adding “seeing her connect with Kevin felt so natural and felt like the way a real-life non-Bachelor relationship develops to me, the consensus is clear.
Dean & Caelynn
Following Astrid and Caelyn, overwhelming Reddit support names Dean Unglert and Caelynn Miller-Keyes as the next best BIP couple. In the same poll, Dean and Caelynn earned 1.1k votes, with waaaycho saying “Caelynn and Dean are not the ‘normal’ couple and that’s why I love them. Love the representation of alternative ways to conduct a relationship outside the status quo.”
With several others supporting the sentiment, Commerical_Stress899 says “I have to say Caelynn and Dean because we wouldn’t have gotten Pappy. There’s something so sweet about them adopting an older dog.
Kenny & Mari
In an entire Reddit thread entitled Kenny and Mari Are a Beautiful Couple, more than 340 upvotes and 100 responses support the notion that BIP season 7 pair Kenny Braasch and Mari Pepin are not only the best couple of their season but one of the best all-time as well. The two remain engaged to this day.
DaleCoopersWife says “they seem to be a great match for each other and it was good to see how they handled those difficult conversations.” In a different Reddit thread asking which BIP 7 couple would last the longest, Kenny and Mari take second place with 940 votes.
Adam & Raven
At the end of BIP 4, Adam Gottschalk and Raven Gates left in a serious relationship that culminated in their marriage in 2021 and their first child in 2022. Per the Reddit poll asking fans of the superb reality spinoff TV show which BIP couples are the best, Adam and Raven rank third behind Astrid and Kevin and Dean and Caelynn.
Redditor carlysaurus puts it well, saying “Raven and Adam are so low-key. I love them together. An unexpected couple that worked out so well. I want Tia to find someone like Adam and settle down.” Maddyoverboard puts it better, saying “why do you have to make me choose between Raven/Adam and Astrid/Kevin?”
Hannah & Dylan
In a somewhat rare occurrence, BIP 6 ended with Hannah Godwin and Dylan Barbour both proposing marriage. The two are still engaged and share a house in San Diego, leading many in Bachelor Nation to label them one of the best items. With 484 votes, Hannah and Dylan rank as the 4th best BIP couple who are still together per a Reddit poll.
Redditor tiggerlgh says “Hannah and Dylan are the most entertaining to me,” with snark_owl adding “Yeah I’ll Stan for Hannah and Dylan, there good Insta follows.”
Riley & Maurissa
In the first Reddit poll wondering which BIP 7 couple is the most durable, Riley Christian and Maurissa Gunn took first place with 1.6k votes. However, once the couple decided to go their separate ways in the finale, the numbers dipped dramatically. While it lasted, Miley was a highly rootable couple online during the long-running reality show.
BearsAreTheBearst says “Riley and Maurissa are for sure end game,” with Nik8_12 adding “I could see Riley and Maurissa with the televised wedding.”
Becca & Thomas
In the recently updated Reddit poll asking which BIP 7 couple would last the longest, Becca Kufrin and Thomas Jacobs blow the competition away with 1.8k votes. Ironic, considering the two left Paradise separately before reuniting and remaining strong to this day.
Among the reasoning, crawthor says “I voted Thecca because they’re one of the few couples I pay attention to and they seem pretty solid to me.” Disgruntled_Hen seconds the thought, adding “I’m a THECCA stan to the core of my being,” with Sparkle_Markle adding “Thecca has my vote. It seems like they’ve already discussed marriage, which is a good sign.”
Carly & Evan
When it comes to the most popular couple on the guilty-pleasure dating show that bachelor nation wished had stayed together during their stay in Paradise, season 3’s Carly Waddell and Evan Bass top the list and it isn’t particularly close. In a Reddit thread asking this very question, ContestMammoth2278 earns over 200 upvotes by naming Evan and Carly as the best couple, “mainly for their kids.”
After getting married in 2017 and having two children together, Carly and Evan announced their split in 2020, much to the chagrin of Bachelor Nation who feel they should still be together for the sake of the children if nothing else.
Jade & Tanner
With 337 votes as the most durable BIP couple of all-time, Jade Roper and Tanner Tolbert have a ton of support on Reddit. The couple both agreed to engage in marriage at the end of season 2, with their nuptials being televised in 2015. The two are still together and have three children.
One Redditor claims “they were solid from the beginning and it was amazing. There wasn’t much drama surrounding them.” When asked if they were as strong as Astrid and Kevin, another added “no even better. They never kissed anyone before each other, all about each other from day one, and never came close to breaking up or having a fight.”
Abigail & Noah
With more than 500 votes added from the first to the second Reddit poll, Abigail Heringer and Noah Erb grew stronger during their time together on BIP 7. By the end of their mutual engagement, fans felt they were one of the all-time strongest couples.
