The third season was first announced in November 2022 but with little information available. On February 22, 2023, it was revealed that the third season of That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime will debut in the Spring 2024 anime season. This information was first announced at a 10th-anniversary event for the franchise, where the That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime: Scarlet Bond film was screened in theaters for the final time. In December 2023, a new trailer revealed an updated release window, locking its premiere in for April 2024. The season will, reportedly, be split into two cours, or halves.
The Story of That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime Season 3
Tensions will be high at the start of season 3, as it moves into adapting storylines from volume 7 of the light novel and volume 19 of the manga, known as the Saint-Monster Confrontation arc. This storyline involves Rimuru sending a priest to a meeting of major figures in the Holy Empire of Lubelius, who winds up getting murdered. Having clashed with Lubelius’ forces once before, the situation was already fragile, but this death has thrown everything into question. Now, one wrong move could mean an all-out war, so the pressure is on for Rimuru and the Jura Tempest Federation.
The Characters of That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime Season 3
With a confrontation with Lubelius looming, the holy knight and otherworlder known as Hinata Sakaguchi, a former apprentice of Shizu’s, will come back into the picture. Hinata is a powerful and imposing figure who has a bone to pick with Rimuru over Shizu’s death, and they’ve already met in battle. The series will, of course, also see the return of a huge number of friendly faces from among its very large cast, and will also see Rimuru spending a fair amount of time with the other Demon Lords now that they’re a member of the “Octagram,” or Demon Lord council.
That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime Season 3 Releases April 2024
At present, the third season of That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime is set to debut in April 2024. No more specific date has yet been given. The three-episode OVA, Coleus’ Dream, was released in September 2023, helping to tide over fans as they waited. These That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime OVAs have been made available on Crunchyroll outside of Japan, so any fans who haven’t had the chance should watch them when possible.
