Teen Mom: Kailyn Lowry Would Be Open to HGTV Show on Her New Home Build

Kailyn Lowry is thinking about stepping outside her Teen Mom 2 comfort zone, and appearing on HGTV to document the construction of her dream home. In 2019, Kailyn moved into her house in Middleton, Delaware, which featured a pool, a wine cellar, a fire pit, and many other things that would make raising kids on that property a great time. Shortly after moving in, Kailyn went on Twitter rant claiming she has to move again since fans had figured out where she lived, and were not being respectful of her privacy. Fans of the show claim she was asking to be harassed since she signed up for a reality show. When a fan asked her during an Instagram Q&A if she felt like home in her new house yet, Kailyn responded that she doesn’t feel safe there because too many people knew where she lives.

Kailyn initially moved into the Middletown house to be closer to her baby daddy Chris Lopez. She shares her two sons Lux, 4, and Creed, 1, and her sons Isaac, 11 and Lincoln, 7, with her exes Jo Rivera and Javi Marroquin. After living in Middleton for awhile, Kailyn realized she made a mistake moving far from her other two sons’ fathers. She had hoped Chris would step up and be there for his sons, but after he failed to do so, she decided to move back to Dover. She realized it wasn’t fair to make Jo and Javi drive 35 minutes to see their sons in order to accommodate someone who isn’t contributing at all. She has since started building a new home in Dover.

Kailyn is now revealing she would be willing to document the construction of her new home on an HGTV show, if she was asked. According to In Touch, Kailyn is unsure whether or not MTV is going to use any of the footage they filmed of the beginning stages of the construction process. She says they filmed a little bit of it, but it is up to the network’s discretion whether they use it or not. Kailyn also stated that if HGTV ever approached her with an offer to appear on a spinoff, she wouldn’t turn that opportunity down. She says she would definitely be nervous about filming it because her taste in design may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but that would not deter her from being on the show.

In regards to the style she chooses for her home, Kailyn is no stranger to getting outside opinions on her interior design choices. Kailyn often takes advice from her Instagram followers when she can’t make up her mind on which choice is the best. She says she tries to keep her own likes and dislikes in mind when asking her followers, while also considering what the fans have to say. Whether or not she takes her fan’s advice depends on what she is seeking advice on. An example she gave was if she was trying to decide between picking something trendy in that moment or a timeless choice, she will go with what a majority of the fans tell her they prefer. If it’s a split decision, she’ll just go with what she liked better in the first place.

Kailyn is a busy woman nowadays, and continues to take on more ventures. Not only is she a mom of four boys, which is a job all on its own, Kailyn also appears on Teen Mom 2, is a bestselling author, has two podcasts, and is building a house. She also recently announced she plans on opening an athletic camp for kids across America, with her ex-husband Javi. Adding an HGTV show would be a big deal, but something Kailyn can definitely take on. It would be interesting to see if HGTV actually takes Kailyn up on her offer, creating a show around her and the construction of her new home.
