Teen Mom OG’s Catelynn Lowell is being celebrated by MTV followers for her patient parenting of her daughter, Nova Lee, after a tantrum. The mother of three has always been a favorite in the series, thanks to her calm demeanor and good decision-making.
Lowell and her husband Tyler Baltierra first shot to fame on 16 and Pregnant after they put their daughter up for adoption and have been the only couple to do so in the entire franchise. Fans adore how the couple is continuously working on having a meaningful relationship with themselves. Fans will remember that they had no family support around them in regard to putting the baby up for adoption in 2017 but have since formed a tighter bond.
In season 7 of Teen Mom OG, fans witnessed as Lowell revealed she had a miscarriage. The couple was broken-hearted, and there was a moving episode where the parents had to explain to their daughter, Nova Lee, what had happened. The traumatic miscarriage did a number on the young mom, and she struggled with her mental health for a very long time, eventually checking herself into a rehab program to deal with her emotions. However, viewers on Reddit have felt that no matter what the mother was going through, she always made time for her daughter, even when she felt she was about to commit suicide.
Lowell is always calm, cool, and collected when dealing with her daughter, Nova, even when she is acting out and wanting attention. The little girl is very curious and often can be seen sneaking a listen to her parent’s grown-up conversations being caught by the cameras. Fans noted that Nova is well adjusted and a sweet child who, for the most part, seems happy in her home life. MTV viewers also find their mother-daughter bond “heartwarming.” Lowell often encourages her daughter to talk about her feelings and always to ask questions if she wants to know the answer to something.
While many fans commended Lowell on her parenting skills, they did drag Baltierra for his hands-off approach. He was called out for often yelling at his daughter when she didn’t do something right, and many compared him to his father, Butch. In addition, Teen Mom viewers are wondering if the couple’s kids are good because of Lowell’s time with them and not Baltierra’s.
