Teen Mom 2 star Kailyn Lowry has publicly apologized to Jenelle Evans after previously accusing her of leaking the news of her fourth pregnancy. Since appearing on 16 And Pregnant season 2 in 2009, Kailyn has entertained MTV fans with a look into her personal and professional lives. With cameras documenting Kailyn’s journey from a 17-year-old new mom to a now 30-year-old author and podcast host, Kailyn’s chaotic romance life has continued to be pushed to the forefront.
While Kailyn has enjoyed friendships with co-stars Leah Messer and Chelsea Houska, the Delaware native has been beefing with Jenelle for years. Although the two originally got along during the early days of Teen Mom, their cordial relationship began to sour after Jenelle called out Kailyn for getting plastic surgery in 2016. Shortly after this initial exchange, any hope of reconciliation seemed to end for good after Jenelle congratulated Kailyn on her third pregnancy with Lux, who was born in 2017. There were several issues with Jenelle’s online tweet that have continued to affect Kailyn years later: not only did Kailyn divorce Javi Marroquin months earlier after declaring that she did not want another child with him, but Jenelle explaining that she heard the news from the MTV crew proved that information was being spread behind Kailyn’s back.
Teen Mom season 11 began airing last month, and its April 5 episode revealed a major bombshell about Kailyn’s pregnancy with Lux: it turns out that Jenelle wasn’t the one who leaked the news years ago, but Javi and Vee Rivera; Vee is the wife of Joe Rivera, who is the father of Kailyn’s first child. Issuing a public apology to Jenelle on Instagram, Kailyn admits that was wrong to place the blame on Jenelle, writing, “I now know I blamed the wrong person for leaking my pregnancy news with Lux.” Explaining that she felt “hurt and betrayed,” over her pregnancy being revealed without consent, Kailyn declares, “No one likes admitting when they’re wrong, but I was wrong here.”
“I want to formally apologize to my former co-star, Jenelle, for wrongfully accusing her of leaking my pregnancy news,” Kailyn summarizes in her Instagram post, noting that as someone in the public eye, “sometimes people forget that I am human and very real feelings are involved.” Revealing that she is blocked on social media by Jenelle, who also recently blocked her husband David Eason, Kailyn’s fellow co-workers have been applauding her admission. Devoin Austin, the first baby daddy of Briana DeJesus, writes, “Growth,” while 16 And Pregnant star Nikkole Paulun says, “This is so awesome of you.”
Kailyn isn’t the most-liked cast member on Teen Mom 2, but viewers agree that this apology towards Jenelle is not just well-deserved, but seemingly coming from a good and honest place. With the amount of drama Kailyn has been through lately, it’s clear that this was one argument that did not need to be dragged out any longer. It’s hard to tell whether or not Kailyn and Jenelle will make peace and possibly improve their relationship, but then again, anything is possible. In the meantime, MTV fans can continue to watch Teen Mom 2 season 11 to see what else might be revealed.
