T.I. Says He Has Gynecologist Check Daughter’s Virginity Once a Year

T.I., one of the judges on Netflix’s Rhythm + Flow, takes his role as an overly protective father to a new extreme, admitting that he goes with his daughter to her gynecologist appointments to determine if she is still a virgin. T.I.says he joins 18-year-old Deyjah Harris for her annual checkups and demands that the doctor tell him the status of his daughter’s hymen.

The rapper is a little too pleased to confirm that his daughter remains a virgin. Due to doctor/patient confidentiality, he says that Deyjah has to sign a document allowing the doctor to share this information with her father. However, from the way he describes it, T.I. doesn’t give Deyjah much of a choice in the matter, instead suggesting that she better not have anything she needs to hide from him.

As Buzzfeed reports, T.I. shared this information with Nazanin Mandi and Nadia Moham while appearing as a guest on a (now deleted) episode of their podcast Ladies Like Us. The show is billed as a “modern-day women’s perspective on the universal issues we face, although the hosts just laughed at T.I. rather than questioning his behavior. They speculated that she might become more sought after as a virgin, but T.I. gleefully insisted that no man wants to waste his time trying to date a virgin.

According to T.I., Deyjah’s doctor also informed him that hymens are known to break in various ways that don’t involve sexual activity, but he claimed he didn’t care. T.I. says he responded, “Look, doc, she don’t ride no horses, she don’t ride no bike, she don’t play no sports. Just check the hymen, please, and give me back my results expeditiously.”

T.I. doesn’t seem too concerned about invasion of privacy, as evidenced by the multiple cable reality shows he’s opened his life to. Previously, Deyjah joined her father and the rest of her family on six seasons of T.I. & Tiny: The Family Hustle, which aired on VH1 from 2011 to 2017. On the show, T.I. could be seen trying to keep an adolescent Deyjah disinterested in boys, arguing that guys are only after her “sugar.”

Deyjah has yet to publicly comment on the situation, but a look at her recent Twitter activity (@yafavdeyj) certainly provides a clue as to how she’s feeling. She liked a tweet by @race_jones saying, “this is disgusting, possessive and controlling *whew*” and another by @ItsMeeeeeDreaB: “‘give me my results’ first of all mf, those are HER results!! Like WTF.”
