Animal Crossing: New Horizons is a great game for fans of space-themed decorations. Using New Horizons Star Fragments, it is possible to craft numerous beautiful furniture and decoration pieces to hang inside homes or decorate islands with. They can also make a unique addition to any piece of Animal Crossing fanart.
Animal Crossing‘s villagers are also used in many art projects shared by fans of the series. While some are more popular than others, like Raymond the cat, players often have a personal favorite that stands out from the more than 400 different villagers available in the games. Villagers also have unique personalities and interesting styles that are reflected in their home designs, offering a wide array of inspiration for beautiful Animal Crossing artworks.
The latest addition to this gallery of impressive artwork comes from Twitter user ariamisu. The art features astronomy-loving owl NPC Celeste at a slumber party alongside a group of sleeping squirrel villagers; Peanut, Poppy, Static, and Filbert. Each villager is instantly recognizable thanks to their unique designs, which have been faithfully reproduced in soft colors. Celeste, being a literal night owl, is the only one awake, looking up in awe at the beautiful stars that decorate the room’s walls. The others are all sleeping soundly in a variety of cute positions. Even the cranky Static has a faint smile on his face. Of course, this is only a tiny selection of the villagers available in Animal Crossing, even amongst the squirrels. One particularly notable absence is the popular Marshal, another squirrel villager with a cute design.
It seems the slumber party has also gone well with fans, as the image currently has over 2.3k likes on Twitter. The charming scene looks like it could be a moment from New Horizons, with the room the sleepover is taking place in actually belonging to Filbert – with the addition of a few cushions to give Peanut and Static a comfortable place to sleep. The only other difference is that a Mini DIY workbench in the upper right corner of the room has been replaced with a Nova light, one of the many decorations made with Animal Crossing‘s Star Fragment recipes.
With so many Star Fragment-based accents on display in Filbert’s home, it’s little wonder Celeste seems so entranced. ariamisu’s choice to include her in the slumber party is perfect, showing a natural progression of the friendly owl’s life outside of her regular in-game appearances.
