Forty seasons of the reality competition show Survivor have aired and some of those seasons are much less popular than others. The first season caused a sensation in the spring of 2000. The show has a long history, and season 41 is set to air this fall, while season 42 was delayed due to an international flight ban. Since the show has been on for many years, viewers have had ample opportunity to weigh in on the seasons. Five of them stand out as particularly disappointing.
While the show has provided a lot of entertainment overall, some seasons didn’t have great casts. For the most part, the series had likable casts of contestants, but that can’t be said for every season in the 20 years that the show has been on the air. Some contestants were considered rude or immature. They made their seasons hard to watch. Nonetheless, people tuned in. This season was deemed the very worst due to the fact that that there were so many negative responses to it. Even Survivor host Jeff Probst criticized it. According to many, the season’s cast was just plain old mean, and there was a lot of hostility between cast members.
Other seasons that were the worst include Survivor: Fiji, Survivor: Nicaragua, Survivor: Worlds Apart, and Survivor: Redemption Island. While those seasons are ranked as some of the worst of all time, fans don’t give up on the show due to the bad apples in the bunch. They keep watching, as they hope that more unforgettably impressive seasons will air in the future. Even though there have been bad seasons, there have also been great seasons, with Survivor winners that fans appreciate (or love to hate).
Despite producing mediocre seasons from time to time, Survivor endures as a reality competition. Although the 41st season was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the new season is slated to premiere later this fall. With a new group of contestants heading to the island, viewers are excited about what is on the horizon. Although the cast and official release date haven’t been announced yet, Survivor fans can look forward to updates in the coming months.
