Supernatural: 8 Projects From The Cast That Came Out After The Show’s End

Supernatural: 8 Projects From The Cast That Came Out After The Show’s End

The Supernatural prequel, The Winchesters, has cast its major characters and it’s set to release on CW. Many SPN fans are excited to watch while others don’t feel like it would be worth their time. For fans who are interested in catching their favorites from Supernatural in other projects, there is a lot they can choose from.

Since the dark fantasy show ended in November 2020, the cast has been involved in plenty of projects. Many more are about to come, with Gotham Knights starring Misha Collins as Harvey Dent and The Boys season 3 starring Jensen Ackles as Soldier Boy.

Rob Benedict – Lucifer (2016-2021)

Supernatural: 8 Projects From The Cast That Came Out After The Show’s End

Playing the main antagonist in the last season of Supernatural, Rob Benedict left an impression on the fandom with his role as Chuck. He was defeated in the penultimate episode of the show and is one of the few characters from the main cast who didn’t die.

After the show ran its course, he appeared in season 5 of Lucifer as a guest star. Rob played the character of Vincent Le Mec. The character is a French criminal and here too, Rob plays a bad guy.

Mark Pellegrino – 9-1-1 (2018-Present)

Mark Pellegrino played the Devil, a recurring villain on the CW show. He also appeared in the penultimate episode, before being killed by his brother, Michael. His character, Lucifer, is one of the best villains of Supernatural.

Pellegrino appeared in the procedural drama, 9-1-1, in season 1 episode 5 episode 6, “Brawl in Cell Block”. He played the character of Mitchell, who is not so different than SPN’s Lucifer. He dies by the end of the episode.

Misha Collins – Encounter (2021)

Amazon’s original movie, Encounter, was released in December 2021 with the Oscar-award nominee Riz Ahmed in the lead role. The movie also starred everyone’s favorite angel, Misha Collins, in a minor role. He played the character of Dylan, who was the stepfather of the kids of the character played by Riz Ahmed.

The role was a solid departure from Castiel. He was kind of short-tempered but cared a lot for his wife and step-kids. Fans are so used to seeing him in a trenchcoat on-screen that seeing him in normal clothes felt a bit odd.

Ruth Connell – Doom Patrol (2019-Present)

Supernatural has had a lot of witches but the one that stayed the longest in the show as well as in the fans’ hearts is surely Rowena, played by Ruth Connell. The mother of King of Hell, she was the opposite of the stereotypical image of a perfect mother and that is part of the reason Rowena was a villain fans loved.

Ruth played the character Night Nurse in season 3 of Doom Patrol. Interestingly, her Doom Patrol’s character is a demon while in SPN, her son was a demon. Night Nurse is also an assistant to Death.

Misha Collins – Bridgewater (2021-Present)

Misha Collins has been keeping after the show’s end. Apart from publishing a poetry collection and organizing GISH (the world’s biggest scavenger hunt), he was involved in a fiction podcast series. The podcast series, Bridgewater, revolved around the legend of the Bridgewater triangle and is written by Aaron Mahke, the writer of the Amazon series, Lore.

Misha played a folklore professor, Jeremy Bradshaw, who denies the existence of the supernatural every step of the way even though there are a lot of things happening around him that allude to that. Bridgewater was a huge success and it won the iHeartRadio Podcast Award.

Jared Padalecki – Walker (2021-Present)

Immediately after he stopped playing Sam Winchester, Jared Padalecki started shooting for CW’s Walker. It is a reboot of Texas Walker Ranger, executive produced by the man himself and he plays the lead role of Cordell Walker.

It follows the journey of Cordell Walker, a cop who is a widower and father as he navigates his personal and professional life. The series is now in its second season and a prequel of the show is also in production.

Misha Collins – Roadfood (2021-Present)

On Supernatural, it might have been Dean who was a foodie, but in real life, it is Misha Collins who loves trying new foods in the new PBS show, Roadfood. The show follows its host, Collins, as he travels around the United States and tries local unconventional dishes.

It shared a glimpse into the lifestyle of various ethnicities and communities living in America, providing a more authentic picture of the country. This project of Misha might have come as a surprise to some of the SPN fans but Misha’s die-hard fans are aware of his love for food as he has his cookbook published.

Jensen Ackles – Batman: The Long Halloween (2021)

Jensen Ackles in Supernatural and his version of Batman in The Long Halloween, Part One

One of the most famous quotes of Dean Winchester is “I’m Batman” and interestingly, Jensen Ackles went on to voice the character. In the summer of 2021, DC Animated Universe released Batman: The Long Halloween split into two parts. Ackles voiced Bruce Wayne and Batman and was applauded for his great performance.

Matt Reeves’ The Batman and these movies had a lot of similarities. This is so because the recently released live-action film was inspired by the same comic book series that was adapted in these animated movies.
