Supernatural: 10 Memes That Perfectly Sum Up The Series

Supernatural has been gracing its audience with horror, comedy, romance, and questionable morals since 2005. There is so much that goes into Supernatural that makes it relatable and endearing to fans, they had no choice but to hop into Dean’s impala and buckle up for the ride.

Now that the CW has announced The Winchesters, a new prequel to Supernatural, the viewers are ecstatic to see what the writers will have in store for the future. Not only have the cast entertained them for years, but they have also produced content that have helped to make several iconic and legendary memes. With 15 years of endless material, the show could easily be summed up by just a couple of images.

A Demon Full Of Wit

Crowley stands as one of the most cunning and likable villains in the series. All throughout the show, the Winchesters and every other protagonist are constantly backed into a corner and forced to make deals with the devil and his demons. Though each demon has its own ways of causing mayhem, Crowley is brutally honest and even charming to viewers.

Crowley outright says, “Never trust anyone” which is something that the Winchesters had to learn very early on in their line of work. Through time and experience, they were able to anticipate the enemy’s next move and plan accordingly. If they didn’t plan ahead, they would be roped into losing their souls or their lives.

What’s Dead Should Stay Dead

Supernatural fans have become immune to the pains of death because nothing is ever as it seems. Time and time again, beloved characters are brought back from the dead after even the most painful and emotional losses like Dean who was killed 103 times in a single episode.

This iconic quote has been ignored since season 2 in regards to ghosts, monsters, demons, and even humans since the beginning. The entire premise of Supernatural is that there’s more to this life than the normal boundaries that society set. Without the Winchesters parading around hunting monsters and saving the world, people would be subject to things eviler than they can comprehend.

Get The Salt

The best episodes of Supernatural are the ones where fans can learn how to protect themselves from their own demons. Granted different viewers have different beliefs, but after an individual has watched their favorite characters avoid peril countless times, doing what they do to survive helps one to feel a lot safer.

Sam and Dean are constantly being berated by humans and monsters due to their line of work. They are two of the handful of people that are aware of the evils of the world and how to fight against them. They practice simple things that boost survival rates like how to kill a ghost by burning its remains, or how to keep a demon out by making a perimeter of salt.

No Soul, No Problem

This meme brings the question of how any demon could get leverage over Sam in his soulless state. He had nothing to offer them, and no emotion to tie him to the people that under normal circumstances he cared for. The suspense that followed the realization that Sam lost his soul was carried through until Death surprisingly returned it.

Sam’s Survival Go-To

Much to Dean’s dismay, Sam was knocked unconscious too many times to count during fights, regardless of the fact that he was a powerhouse on his own when he was awake. Dean Winchester had grown accustomed to always being alert when it came to protecting his brother as both men were trained heavily in battle techniques from a young age.

Even with Sam’s tendency to go unconscious, the pair were always able to escape trouble with skill and sacrifice. When it came down to it, both brothers would do anything to protect each other. In times of trouble, their instincts and survival skills kept them alive for 15 grueling seasons with fans cheering them on all the way.

Castiel’s Main Problem

It’s hard not to feel bad for Castiel after watching everything that the Winchesters put him through with Dean, in particular, always being a nail in his side. Even though both Dean and Castiel always pushed each other’s nerves, they had a united purpose which was to keep each other alive and stop Lilith from breaking the 66 seals.

That feat was proven to be easier said than done when it came to all the antics that the Winchesters got roped into.  With such a righteous endeavor ahead of them, Dean, Cas, and Sam had plenty of push back from the evil surrounding them. Dean proved to be a challenge for Cas when it came to teamwork and trust.

Sam’s Suffering Wifi Signal

Sam’s genius and investigation skills proved superior time and time again throughout the show. Whatever the brothers didn’t already have memorized from experience, they would be able to figure out from the internet or their father’s journal. Through his time studying to be a lawyer, it’s demonstrated Sam excels at thorough research.

If Sam couldn’t get a wifi signal, the pair would find another way. Often times they would be guided by some other force or natural instinct to help them through tough situations. They would often call Bobby, or even go to the library. Regardless of the instruments, when they had to figure out what evil they were dealing with the Winchesters always found a solution.

Bobby Singer In A Nutshell

Fans stand together when they say that Bobby Singer is a hero. He was the one to step up as a father figure when the boys lost John Winchester. Every time Sam and Dean lost sight of what was truly important or needed a helping hand, Bobby was there. He was a reliable source of wisdom, experience, and family that the Winchesters consistently turned to.

With all that being said, it doesn’t mean Bobby was the most nurturing type. He knew how to communicate with Sam and Dean in ways that they understood and related to the best. Throughout the show, it is shown that the Winchester brothers are “the drama.” Bobby willingly accepts them for who they are and does his best to keep them on the straight and narrow.

Big Brother Dean

One thing that was made clear from the very start of the show was “If Sam’s not safe, it’s not happening.” Dean has had the overprotective big brother role down to a science since day one, which is likely down to the fact that Ackles and Padalecki had a strong friendship off-screen.

The constant theme throughout the show is how important family is and whether by blood or not, when the Winchesters decided to fight for a person they always came through. As their characters developed, Sam and Dean rotated roles as the protective brother in times when the other needed it most and Dean never failed to worry about Sam’s well-being as any big brother would.

Every Supernatural Episode

This meme encompasses the show’s dramatic flair perfectly as it seemed without fail, one character would die and then miraculously be brought back to life. It was comforting for fans to know nothing is ever as it seems, yet the chaos of the show always kept them on their toes. Sam and Dean had been through their fair share of heartache that would ruin any normal person.

Dean’s face is also spot-on in summarizing the mayhem of Supernatural. Covered with blood, and seasoned with experience, the eldest Winchester is not even phased by Sam’s joke. It takes men that are consistently beaten down by evil, lied to, manipulated, and barely holding on to survive the various hells that Sam and Dean did for 15 seasons.
