Superman vs. Omni-Man: Invincible Creator Trolls Fans Over The Obvious Winner

Superman’s strength has been challenged by Omni-Man from the Invincible comics, and now even the creator of Invincible himself has sparked the flames of debate over which character is stronger. And he’s thrown in some expert trolling of fans for good measure. There is no doubt that both Superman and Omni-Man are among the most powerful aliens in comic book history. Omni-Man is clearly modeled after Superman, as both are held up as the premier superheroes of their respective universes and have similar power sets.

Robert Kirkman, the co-creator of The Walking Dead and Invincible comics, posted on Twitter in response to the ongoing Superman vs. Omni-Man debate. The rise of this most recent debate over these two super beings seems to be thanks to the success of the Invincible and My Adventures With Superman cartoon shows. Kirkman defends his character Omni-Man by tweeting, “Look, Vulcans may have ice vision, but that’s not going to be enough to overpower even a standard Viltrumite.” One little error being that Superman has heat vision and ice breath, while his warped clone, Bizzaro, has ice vision. The tweet is clearly intended to poke fun at the debate by not only mis-labeling Superman as a “Vulcan” and asserting that he has “ice vision.”

Regardless, this tweet has fans asking if Superman truly has what it takes to take on the Viltrum empire’s favorite son, Omni-Man.

Omni-Man is super strong and super lethal, but Superman might be stronger, begging the question; who would win in a fight between the two?

Superman & Omni-Man Are VERY Evenly Matched

Superman flying towards the reader in DC Comics

Superman has been pitted against the strongest characters in fiction, like Goku, One-Punch Man, The Sentry, and now, Omni-Man. When going through their origins, both characters have similar pasts, with Superman being born on the alien planet Krypton and Omni-Man born on the planet Viltrum. While Krypton and its people were destroyed in a planetary explosion, the Viltrum planet and its people remain a dangerous threat. Superman was sent to Earth to guide humans as a heroic guardian, while Omni-Man was raised to be a conqueror of planets and to dominate the Earth. With these light and dark parallels in their origins, these two aliens are destined to be enemies.

As far as their powers and feats of strength are concerned, Superman and Omni-Man’s battle would possibly destroy the fabric of reality itself. Both aliens are shown to withstand incredible amounts of pain and attacks due to their invulnerability. Omni-Man is powerful enough to destroy his home planet Viltrum with a single punch. He also flies faster than the speed of sound, and has 2,000 years of battle experience. However, Superman is fast enough to keep up with the Flash, who can run through light, time, and space. Not only that, Superman has been able to sneeze away planets, move the Earth’s gravitational axis, and even destroy alternate dimensions with a few punches.

Kryptonians vs. Viltrumites: Who Will Win?

Kryptonians vs Viltrumites

Superman and Omni-Man are two polar opposites who believe in different forms of justice, but fans can’t seem to stop pitting them against each other. When the creator of Omni-Man chimes into this debate, it’s definitely a crossover match-up waiting to happen. Omni-Man could expose Superman’s weakness to Kryptonite while Superman could exploit the Viltrumite’s sensitive ears with a sonic boom clap. These two men could hurl planets at each other and fight until the multiverse is extinct. Though Robert Kirkman believes Omni-Man could easily destroy Superman, the Man of Steel has been known to cheat death on numerous occasions. All trolling aside, in the battle of Superman vs. Omni-Man, Kal-El might just have the upper hand against the Viltrumite conqueror.
