Superman & Lois Season 2 Finale Trailer Shows Clark Gearing Up For Battle

WARNING: This article includes MAJOR spoilers from Superman & Lois season 2, episodes 14 and 15.

The CW has released the trailer for the Superman & Lois season 2 finale, which sees the Man of Steel gearing up for battle. Things are starting to come full circle for Superman & Lois season 2 as the Inverse World (a.k.a. the Arrowverse’s Bizarro World) is coming for Earth-Prime. After being on another short hiatus, Superman & Lois season 2 resumed its final batch of episodes this week, with episode 14, “Worlds War Bizarre,” seeing Ally Allston getting even closer to fulfilling her mission.

Since her arrival in Superman & Lois season 2, Ally, who is one of the Parasites from the DC Universe, has been determined to help people “complete” themselves. What started as a cult turned out to be something far bigger, as Ally had discovered a parallel Earth that she is now trying to merge with Earth-Prime. Similar to The Flash season 2, Superman & Lois‘ sophomore run has used the Multiverse as a big focal point again. By the end of Superman & Lois season 2, episode 14, Ally’s dream started to become a reality, setting up the season finale.

Following the airing of Superman & Lois season 2, episode 14, The CW (via TV Promos) ran a trailer for episode 15, a.k.a. the big finale. Titled “Waiting for Superman,” the footage shows the aftermath of “Worlds War Bizarre” as Earth-Prime is in the stages of merging with the Inverse World. While Clark Kent was still recovering from his last encounter with Ally, the Superman & Lois season 2 finale trailer sees the Man of Steel getting ready to take on his latest big bad. This is the first time since Crisis on Infinite Earths that the Arrowverse has toyed with the idea of having worlds merge into one. The Superman & Lois season 2 finale is directed by Gregory Smith, while showrunner Todd Helbing and Brent Fletcher wrote the script. While he doesn’t appear in the trailer, Arrow’s David Ramsey will return as John Diggle, as his guest spot is meant to help set up a massive chapter for Superman & Lois season 3. It also appears that the main villain for next season may get teased in the Superman & Lois finale.

As massive as it is to see Superman & Lois in the midst of having worlds collide, it will be interesting to see how they actually stop it. However, another huge factor to look forward to in the season 2 finale is how Superman & Lois will reveal its place in the Arrowverse. After 2 seasons with no references to the other shows, except Diggle’s season 1 appearance, the Superman & Lois season 2 finale is going to answer those unanswered questions, primarily through a speech by Sam Lane. Whatever Sam’s speech consists of, it will hopefully be a logical explanation to why someone like Supergirl (Superman’s cousin) hasn’t been name-dropped at least once.

The Superman & Lois season 2 finale airs on Tuesday, June 28 at 8PM on The CW.
