Warning: Spoilers for Superman & Lois season 2, episode 9
Superman & Lois season 2, episode 10, titled “Bizarros in a Bizarro World”, won’t air this week. For the Arrowverse series, this is the third hiatus in a single season. Once again, the story was left hanging on a cliffhanger.
Despite premiering in early January, Superman & Lois season 2 has only released nine episodes thus far. That can be attributed to the show taking off a total of three weeks since the season started. A two-week break followed the release of the first four episodes, in addition to another one-week hiatus in March after episode 7. Now, another delay is happening after just two straight episodes. As a result, viewers will have to wait to find out what fate awaits Superman (Tyler Hoechlin) now that he’s crossed into Bizarro World for the first time.
The CW has announced that Superman & Lois season 2, episode 10 will release on April 26, which makes this hiatus the longest one of the season at three weeks – and hopefully the last. As for why Superman & Lois is off the air again, it seems the delay is directly connected to the global coronavirus pandemic. As Lois actress Elizabeth Tulloch stated on Twitter, production on Superman & Lois season 2 has been forced to undergo multiple shutdowns as a consequence of COVID-19 cases on set, which explains the unusual placement of the season’s breaks.
The delay for Superman & Lois season 2, episode 10 has implications for when the season will come to a close. A total episode count hasn’t been confirmed, but it’s still possible that like season 1, season 2 will consist of 15 episodes. If that’s true – and no other delays occur — season 2 should wrap up on May 31, which is only slightly behind the usual schedule for The CW’s shows. The finale is expected to wrap up the show’s Bizarro World storyline, which has been the biggest problem that’s plagued the characters in season 2.
Superman & Lois season 2, episode 10 is believed to be the story that finally allows for an in-depth look at Bizarro World and the people who live there. Episode 9 noticeably didn’t explore what happened to Superman when he went through the portal, so based on the setup, title, and promo, it appears that Superman & Lois season 2, episode 10 will be a Clark-centric story that shows what went on during the month he was missing. Bizarro versions of Lana and Tal-Rho have already been teased, and could very well have encounters with Clark while he looks for Anderson and Ally Allston. The episode is also sure to dive into the events that brought Bizarro Jonathan to Earth-Prime in episode 9’s ending.
