Supergirl Just Unleashed Her Own Version of Hulk’s Greatest Move

Spoilers for Lazarus Planet Alpha #1 by DC ComicsOne of the Hulk’s most iconic moves was just copied by Supergirl, as Kara Zor-El unleashed her version of the Thunderclap in a fight against a powerful new villain. In Lazarus Planet: Alpha #1 by DC Comics, Supergirl is nearly defeated by a magical threat known as the Golden Horn King. However, thanks to using her powers to create a Thunderclap, the villain is swiftly taken down.

In Lazarus Planet: Alpha #1 by Mark Waid and Riccardo Federici by DC Comics, Supergirl is among the heroes split into groups to stop the magical chaos caused by the King Fire Bull that’s raining down in the DC Universe following the eruption of the Lazarus Volcano. Supergirl, Batman, Talia ‘Al Ghul, and Blue Devil look for the Devil Nezha before King Fire Bull uses the ancient monster to fuel his powers. However, the group first runs into the Golden Horn King, a servant of the villain, who uses his magical powers to make the heroes succumb to their fears during the battle. Supergirl manages to break free from the hold long enough to unleash a Thunderclap that causes an avalanche, taking out their evil opponent.

Supergirl’s Thunderclap Is Straight Out Of The Hulk’s Playbook

Supergirl’s Thunderclap is reminiscent of Hulk’s iconic move, as the Jade Giant has used his powers to create a booming wave that’s knocked out some of his strongest foes. While Supergirl’s Thunderclap doesn’t appear to be as powerful as Hulk’s, as it’s been used more than an offensive weapon, allowing him to extinguish fires and stop hurricanes, it still gets the job done, causing an avalanche that subdues the Golden Horn King.

Supergirl Just Unleashed Her Own Version of Hulk’s Greatest Move

Of course, Supergirl isn’t the only DC hero with their own variation on the Thunderclap, as Superman has deployed the powerful move on a handful of occasions. Even Supergirl’s Earth-2 counterpart, Power Girl, as well as Wally West’s son Jai, have also been seen using the Thunderclap. Although, no Thunderclap is more iconic in the comics than when the Hulk has used it – as it’s the gold standard for the power move.

Ultimately, Supergirl’s Thunderclap ends up taking the Golden Horn King down and bringing the heroes closer to the Devil Nezha. It’s an impressive display of power for Kara Zor-El. It ends up being a brilliant move to take down the villain, as it’s not the Thunderclap directly that stops him, but the ensuing avalanche the attack causes. Readers can see Supergirl pull off one of the Hulk’s strongest moves in Lazarus Planet: Alpha #1 by DC Comics, which is in comic book stores now.
