Supergirl: Additional Season 2 Set Photos with Superman Emerge

Supergirl did well by itself during its freshman season. Earning critical praise and garnering a loyal viewership are not easy tasks on network television today, but this particular live-action superhero TV show managed to do just that (despite issues like its ratings dwindling following its premiere). The series have prompted much discussion too, thanks to the ongoing developments concerning Supergirl season 2.

The television series made waves earlier this year with the announcement that it is transitioning from its original home, CBS, to TV’s hub for DC programming, The CW. Joining the likes of The Flash, Arrow, and DC’s Legends of TomorrowSupergirl looks to be primed for success and even more exciting crossover episodes. However, that is not the only exciting bit of news that fans received over the offseason. Supergirl‘s Man of Steel has finally been cast – Teen Wolf star Tyler Hoechlin. With the series’ second season now filming, more and more set photos of Hoechlin in costume are making their way online.

In all of his caped glory, two more pictures of Superman on the set of Supergirl have now surfaced. Both photos (seen below) feature the Heochlin-portrayed Man of Steel in full costume – one alongside another of The CW’s superhero actors, Arrow star Stephen Amell.

Hi, everyone – incase you didn’t get the memo, that #Superman/#Supergirl poster is fake: pic.twitter.com/F8Kj3Aoqzi— Kevin Fitzpatrick (@TVKevLance) August 8, 2016

The first picture was posted by Amell himself, who had run into Heochlin while on a walk with his daughter. The photo below that references a supposed poster that “leaked” recently, with ScreenCrush editor Kevin Fitzpatrick reporting it to be a fake. Alongside the poster, Fitzpatrick posted the actual picture from which the poster was created: Heochlin on set, filming a scene from season 2 of Supergirl.

These photos themselves might not give fans all that much insight into the overarching plot of Supergirl season 2, but it is interesting to note that a fair amount of Superman pictures have hit the web since the characters casting, announced less than two months ago. With recent set photos showcasing a number of Metropolis marked vehicles, a handful of images featuring the infamous Luthor Corp. logo, all in addition to the casting of Lex’s sister Lena (Merlin’s Katie McGrath), it seems that Kara’s cousin – Clark Kent/Superman – may appear beyond the first two episodes of Supergirl season 2 that he’s currently confirmed for.
