Super Mario 3D All-Stars Sales Spike Ahead Of Delisting

Super Mario 3D All-Stars has seen a sales spike in the UK, as it will soon be taken off the Nintendo eShop. The game was released to celebrate the 35th-anniversary of the Super Mario Bros. series, with the intention that it would always be limited.

Super Mario 3D All-Stars is a collection of some of the best Super Mario Bros. games of all time. It includes Super Mario 64, Super Mario Sunshine, and Super Mario Galaxy. Nintendo said from the start that the game was meant to be a limited-time release, in a move that has been criticized by fans. The people who won’t have access to a Switch until after March 31 (when the game is delisted) will have to rely on the second-hand market to play Super Mario 3D All-Stars, and prices are set to increase once the game is taken off the eShop.

Nintendo Switch owners only have a few more days to purchase Super Mario 3D All-Stars until it’s removed from the eShop. This ticking clock has done wonders for the game’s sales in the UK. According to GamesIndustry.biz, the physical version of Super Mario 3D All-Stars is currently #2 on the UK sales charts, sitting behind the newly-released Monster Hunter Rise. Business is booming in general for Nintendo in the region, as nine of the ten games in the top ten are Switch titles, with the remaining game being FIFA 21.

Super Mario 3D All-Stars Sales Spike Ahead Of Delisting

Super Mario 3D All-Stars saw a 267% spike in sales over the past week, which is to be expected, considering that it will soon become a lot harder to buy. Nintendo has been bundling Mario merchandise with the game in an effort to shift the last copies, but that seems unnecessary, considering the sales drive that has been happening in the UK.

Super Mario 3D All-Stars isn’t the only game that is being delisted on March 31, as the translated version of the first Fire Emblem game is due to leave on that day. Mario 35 will also cease functioning on March 31st. It’s going to be a dark day for Switch fans, unless Nintendo decides to give these games a last-minute pardon, as part of some shakeup of the eShop. The people who want to purchase Super Mario 3D All-Stars should do it within the new two days, especially if they want to own it as a digital title, as it will soon fade into the ether.

Super Mario 3D All-Stars will be delisted from the Nintendo eShop on March 31, 2021.
