Lindsay Hubbard and Carl Radke from Summer House sparked dating rumors over the weekend after they did a couples costume for Halloween. After hooking up two summers ago, Lindsay, who dated Austen Kroll, and Carl’s relationship has been very complicated. The pair agreed that they were better off as friends, but there always seemed to be a spark between them. Even when Carl found out about his brother’s passing last summer, the first person he told in the house was Lindsay.
Despite their romantic relationship not working out, Lindsay and Carl are committed to staying best friends. Not only do they live in the same apartment building, but they had been friends for many years before they appeared on Summer House together. Both Carl and Lindsay have witnessed many of each other’s relationships, and it seems like this time it could be leading to something more.
On October 31, Lindsay shared a photo of her and Carl, who works for Loverboy, where they were appeared dressed as Baby and Johnny Castle from the movie Dirty Dancing for Halloween. The reality stars held each other close to imitate the movie’s iconic poster. “I carried a watermelon,” the Winter House star captioned the photo, quoting Jennifer Grey in the movie. Soon after Linsay shared the photo, fans began to speculate that she and Carl were giving their relationship another try. “Tell me you’re dating without telling me you’re dating,” one follower said. Another commented, “Hoping this means y’all are together.” Another fan was hoping this couple’s costume was confirmation that Lindsay and Carl are officially dating.
With that said, both Carl, who’s been busy since Summer House season 5, and Lindsay maintained that they are just friends despite their brief romantic stint in 2019. In October, Lindsay told Page Six that she and Carl are “forever best friends” no matter how life pans out for them. The 35-year-old also told the publication that while they were filming Summer House season 6 over the summer, Carl and Lindsay got to see each other get into different relationships and successfully navigated those situations as friends. Right now, Carl isn’t looking for a serious relationship. Instead, he’s reportedly trying to focus on reaching the one-year mark in his sobriety. On Summer House season 5 reunion, Carl revealed that he was 90 days sober, following his brother’s drug overdoes last summer. Carl also told Page Six that Lindsay has been very supportive of him through his sobriety journey and has appreciated her friendship at this time.
Many fans want to believe Lindsay and Carl from Summer House are finally together. However, it doesn’t seem like that is going to happen any time soon. For now, Carl is focusing on staying sober and keeping his relationship with Lindsay strictly platonic.
