Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League Gameplay Shows Off Evil Flash

A brand-new gameplay trailer for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League was revealed at The Game Awards 2021. The open-world superhuman shooter is being created by Rocksteady Studios, the beloved creator of the Batman: Arkham trilogy. While a trailer for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League gave DC Comic fans a closer look back in October, The Game Awards has given gamers their first look at the title’s actual gameplay.

As the title implies, Rocksteady’s newest title will follow DC Comics’ ragtag group of supervillains as they attempt to take down the Justice League. However, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League makes Task Force X’s mission understandable and sympathetic by seemingly placing the world’s finest heroes under mind control. Superman and his allies have become ruthless killing machines, forcing players to travel across an open-world Metropolis in an attempt to bring them down. Each member of Task Force X will bring their own skills to the table, creating a unique third-person shooter experience. Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League‘s true villain is Brainiac, however, so Rocksteady’s newest title will no doubt lead to a final confrontation with the intergalactic villain.

Revealed at The Game Awards 2021 and posted to YouTube by GameSpotSuicide Squad: Kill the Justice League‘s first gameplay trailer sheds new light on the upcoming superhero shooter. The intense trailer centers around the Squad’s efforts to take down The Flash, who casually mocks the team’s attempts to brutalize him. Each member of the team brings their own talents to the table in both combat and traversal. Harley effortlessly swings though the air, while King Shark scales walls and leaps across rooftops. Deadshot’s jetpack gives him a leg up over his enemies, while Captain Boomerang can teleport to keep up with Flash and move around Metropolis.

While the Suicide Squad will be the focus of Rocksteady’s latest DC Comics adaption, the Justice League will rightfully play a large role in the story. Superman, Flash, and Green Lantern have all been corrupted by Brainiac, meaning that they will appear as powerful foes for players to somehow takedown. Meanwhile, Wonder Woman has appeared in trailers but appears to remain uncorrupted, suggesting that she may actually be an ally of Task Force X. Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League may feature other superheroes, such as Batman or Aquaman, but so far any additional appearances have been kept under wraps.

Rocksteady’s Batman: Arkham trilogy was beloved, both by fans of the character and engaging action titles, leading to much anticipation for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. While the studio’s latest third-person shooter project may look quite different from its previous work, environmental detail and masterful writing are still a major focus. With this gameplay reveal from The Game Awards 2021, fans are no doubt dying to join up with Task Force X when Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League launches in 2022.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League will release in 2022 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
