Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League Footage Teased For DC FanDome

The latest trailer for DC FanDome offers a quick look at footage of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, which will receive a special showing during the daylong event. WB and DC confirmed plans to show off the Suicide Squad and Gotham Knights games at DC FanDome in late August. In the weeks since then, noteworthy teases for both titles have made the rounds online.

Developer WB Games Montréal unleashed new Gotham Knights key art in early September, for instance, offering a shot of the heroes responsible for protecting Gotham in Batman’s absence. A few weeks later, Rocksteady rolled out fresh imagery for Kill the Justice League, a cast photo with the four main characters -King Shark, Harley Quinn, Captain Boomerang, and Deadshot –  standing front and center. And yesterday, October 6, the Gotham Knights Twitter account posted an in-universe newspaper article highlighting the mysterious circumstances surrounding Batman’s untimely death. With DC FanDome just over a week away, it should come as no surprise that WB has launched yet another teaser video to build up hype.

The official Twitter page for The Batman has shared a new DC FanDome teaser, complete with footage from that film, Superman and Lois, and several other DC-branded movies and TV shows. Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League receives a couple of special moments in the minute-long video, too. At the 10-second mark, Task Force X are seen firing a bevy of shots at something off-screen (probably the Man of Steel). This bit of footage does not appear in Kill the Justice League’s reveal trailer, which debuted at DC FanDome’s August 2020 digital event. The foursome pops up again roughly 33 seconds into the new video, standing in a manner reminiscent of the aforementioned key art.

What exactly Rocksteady and WB intend to show of the eagerly-anticipated Suicide Squad game presently remains a mystery. However, the bits of footage featured in the above trailer suggests DC FanDome viewers can look forward to seeing gameplay this time around.

Following the game’s reveal last summer, Rocksteady confirmed its new project will take place in the same universe as its acclaimed Batman: Arkham series. But the ending of Batman: Arkham Knight means a certain vigilante won’t be around to hold the Squad members and their handler, Amanda Waller, to account.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League will launch in 2022 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S; DC FanDome kicks off later this month on October 16.
