Suicide Squad, Gotham Knights Will Be At DC FanDome After Long Silence

New promotional materials for DC FanDome confirm that both Gotham Knights and Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League will appear at the online showcase in October. DC FanDome’s first event occurred last year, acting as a response to pandemic-induced cancelations of Comic-Con and other in-person gatherings. Warner Bros. and DC used the digital show to share details about various movies, TV shows, comics, and a couple of games.

Notably, Warner Bros. Games Montréal finally announced its long-rumored Gotham Knights adventure. Rocksteady Studios’ long bout of silence ended, too, as the acclaimed Batman: Arkham creator unveiled a new entry in the Arkhamverse, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. Neither title has received much of the spotlight since then, with both sitting on the sidelines during online events for this year’s E3 and gamescom. Gotham Knights‘ delay out of 2021 further inhibited its marketing presence, but that changes come mid-October.

The official DC FanDome website recently unleashed a new poster and promo video for the upcoming 2021 event, both of which confirm that Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League and Gotham Knights will take part in the digital festivities. On the poster, in particular, Harley Quinn serves as the Suicide Squad representative, while Batgirl stands in for Gotham Knights. Meanwhile, the promo trailer features previously shown footage of Suicide Squad and a card that lists both games as confirmed to appear during DC FanDome, which DC plans to host on October 16.

What precisely WB intends to show from each adventure is not yet known. Since Rocksteady has only shared a cinematic trailer for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, thus far, the title seems due for a first look at gameplay footage. And months without Gotham Knights news means it, too, is warrants a blowout of information.

While Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League does take place in the same universe as the Batman: Arkham series, WB Games Montréal has confirmed that Gotham Knight bears no connection to the Rocksteady-created brand. Gotham Knights will instead tell its own tale, one wherein the Bat-family must pick up the pieces after Bruce Wayne’s apparent demise.

Gotham Knights and Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League are slated to launch on unspecified dates in 2022; the digital DC FanDome event airs on October 16, 2021.
