Succession Star Sarah Snook Reacts To Family Guy Joke About Her

Sarah Snook took to Instagram to respond to a Succession-inspired Family Guy joke. Succession follows the dysfunctional and obscenely wealthy Roy family, proprietors of the global media conglomerate Waystar RoyCo. Created by the well-regarded satirist Jesse Armstrong, Succession first aired in June 2018, and has since become a critical darling and awards season juggernaut.

Sarah Snook stars as Shiv Roy, one of the three entitled Roy children who is vying for control of the company. Jeremy Strong and Kieran Culkin play her siblings Kendall and Roman, respectively, with Brian Cox starring as the surly patriarch Logan Roy. Matthew Macfadyen, Alan Ruck, Nicholas Braun, and J. Smith-Cameron also appear as various Roy family insiders. Succession’s place in the cultural zeitgeist was recently confirmed by its inclusion in a recent Family Guy episode, “The Lois Quagmire.” One scene saw Peter sniping at Lois that he’ll “tweet mean stuff at celebrities that look vaguely like you.” He then targets the red haired actress, tweeting at Snook, “Hey idiot, your father is stringing you along. You’re never getting the company.” Kendall then immediately likes the Tweet.

Now, Snook has reacted to the Family Guy joke’s nod in her direction. As part of a reel of images posted after Succession‘s 2o22 SAG Awards win, the Australian actor shared the clip alongside the caption, “Here are three things that happened today…” Check out the original Family Guy clip and Snook’s full post below:

In addition to the Family Guy clip, Snook posted two other images. Aside from a silly selfie at the center, the crux of the post is a celebration of Succession’s Screen Actors Guild Awards win. On top of a number of individual acting nominations, the series took home the award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series. As the actor was filming another project and couldn’t attend the ceremony, she capped off her post, “Gosh I wish I could’ve been there! So proud and bravo to all!

Unfortunately, the Adelaide-born actress had to watch the awards from afar, as she is currently in her native Australia shooting the horror film Run Rabbit Run, in which she’ll play a young fertility doctor. It is heartwarming to see that Snook was at least able to see her fellow cast members’ big win via video, and the actor was clearly elated by the news. Luckily for Snook (and Seth MacFarlane) there will be plenty more opportunities for Succession awards and jokes when season 4 airs on HBO.
