Succession Season 4 Trailer: The Roy Siblings Are A Rebel Alliance

The Roy siblings are a rebel alliance in the first Succession season 4 trailer. HBO’s prestige series is still fresh off its second win for Outstanding Drama Series at this past Emmy Awards, where the show received a whopping total of 25 nominations. Succession season 4 is currently filming in Norway and other locales as it gears up for what is excepted to be another critically acclaimed season full of unexpected betrayals and backroom dealings for the Roy family, who own the global media and entertainment conglomerate Waystar RoyCo.

Succession season 4 is set to pick up following season 3’s momentous cliffhanger which saw the Roy siblings – Kendall (Jeremy Strong), Roman (Kieran Culkin), and Shiv (Sarah Snook) – team up, but fail to stop their father, Logan (Brian Cox), from selling Waystar to Lukas Mattson (Alexander Skarsgård), the slick tech mogul behind the streaming giant GoJo. Earlier this month, HBO released the first Succession season 4 footage as part of a sizzle reel showing Logan giving a rousing pep talk to his Waystar employees amidst the seismic sale. Now, the first full look at the new season is here.

Before the House of the Dragon season 1 finale, HBO released the first Succession season 4 trailer. The 35-second trailer teases the tense conflict between Logan and his three kids which will likely boil over in season 4. The trailer also reveals a release window for Succession season 4, which will premiere in Spring 2023 on HBO.

What To Expect From Succession Season 4

Succession Season 4 Trailer: The Roy Siblings Are A Rebel Alliance

The Succession season 4 trailer begins with Logan understandably feeling betrayed, though he remains as formidable and confident as ever. On the other hand, the Roy siblings are more allied than ever, with their other older brother, Connor (Alan Ruck), likening them to a scrappy rebel alliance. Like in Star Wars, it remains to be seen if the Roy siblings can rally enough support for their cause and defeat the evil empire.

The trailer ends with the opportunistic Tom (Matthew Macfayden) asking his wife Shiv if she wants to “talk about what happened,” referring to the final moments of the Succession season 3 finale in which he tipped Logan off about his kids’ attempted coup, putting himself in the good graces of the family patriarch. Though not featured in the trailer, Lukas is now another major ally for Logan as they are partners in the sale. If the Roy siblings’ rebel alliance has any chance of succeeding, they will likely need to convince Lukas to flip sides. Only time will tell as Succession season 4 nears its premiere in the spring of next year.
