Stunning Captain Rex Cosplay Shows Him Honoring Ahsoka Tano

Impressive Star Wars: The Clone Wars cosplay shows the clone Captain Rex honoring his Commander and friend, Ahsoka Tano. The Clone Wars animated series took a deeper look at the conflict between the Republic and the Separatists that took place between Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones and Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith. Not only did this provide audiences with a better understanding of the galaxy’s complex politics and Darth Sidious’ Imperial plan, but it also allowed viewers to see the clone troopers as individual characters with their own hopes, friendships, and personalities. One of those characters was Captain Rex, who led the 501st clone trooper Legion under the command of General Anakin Skywalker and his Padawan, Ahsoka Tano.

Impressive cosplay by cosplayer Matt shows Captain Rex honoring Ahsoka Tano by holding a clone trooper helmet painted to match her appearance – a helmet painted by the clones who would, only hours later, attack her during Order 66 in the final arc of The Clone Wars season 7.

Ahsoka and Rex endured many battles together, but none were as harrowing as when their friends turned against them due to Palpatine’s evil manipulations. The painted helmets proved how much the clones respected Ahsoka even after she left the Jedi Order in The Clone Wars season 5, but their faith in her wasn’t enough to counteract their programming.

Why Did Captain Rex And The Clones Respect Ahsoka Tano So Much?

When Ahsoka first became Anakin’s Padawan, she was brash and excitable and misjudged many dangerous situations. Despite having the rank of Commander, Ahsoka was inexperienced and didn’t always understand the bleakness of the war she was being pulled into. This cost the Jedi and the Republic resources and machinery, but more importantly, numerous clones also lost their lives under her command. What eventually made Ahsoka so beloved among the clones is that she learned from her mistakes. She came to see the clones as more than disposable soldiers – to her, they were her friends as well as comrades, and she went to extraordinary lengths to keep them safe.

During Order 66, she refused to kill or otherwise harm the clones that were attacking her and Rex because she understood they had no choice in what was happening to them. She was undeniably skilled, even then, and she became a solid, dependable leader – but what the clones could always rely on Ahsoka for the most was friendship and trust. Ahsoka’s relationships with Rex and the other clones in Star Wars: The Clone Wars played a vital role in Ahsoka evolving into the leader and beacon of hope she became during the dark days of the Empire’s reign.
