What Monsters Will Return In Stranger Things Season 5?

Jamie Campbell Bower’s Vecna was introduced as the central villain in Stranger Things season 4, and it seems very likely that audiences haven’t seen the last of the formidable figure. After revealing that he’s been behind all the monsters from that have plagued Hawkins, Vecna and Eleven have a climactic battle. The villain is seemingly defeated, but the goosebumps on Will’s neck during the final moments of the finale suggest that Vecna lives on in some dark recess of the Upside Down.

After serving as the central villain in season 1, a new Demogorgon returns in Stranger Things season 4. Hopper heroically dispatches the creature with a sword, but it’s certainly possible that a new iteration of the monster will return in the coming batch of episodes. Season 4 features the reveal that Russian scientists have captured various Demogorgons for lab experimentation, suggesting that Demodogs could also be making a comeback.

The most physically imposing of the Upside Down monsters thus far, the Mind Flayer served as the central antagonist in Stranger Things season 3. The monster is seemingly killed during that season’s finale, but Will’s goosebumps have previously established his connection to the creature, and the goosebumps’ return could mean that another Mind Flayer showdown is to come. It remains to be seen how the final season of Stranger Things will play out, but it’s shaping up to be a monter-filled affair.
