Stranger Things season 5 finally has a production start confirmed. The popular Netflix show follows the supernatural goings-on in and around the fictional town of Hawkins, Indiana, featuring an ensemble cast that includes Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Finn Wolfhard, Millie Bobby Brown, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton, Noah Schnapp, and Sadie Sink. Season 5, which will be the final season for the show, was originally renewed in February 2022 but had its production start delayed amid writers and then actors going on strike for fair pay in mid-2023.
Per Deadline, production on Stranger Things season 5 is set to commence in January 2024. While the exact date is not yet determined, the start is expected on Monday, January 8, though reportedly January 5 has also been brought up as a potential option. The publication also reports that the cast is said to have already gathered on set in Atlanta at the time of writing, for table reads and rehearsals.
