Stranger Things Finn Wolfhard Reveals How Close The Cast Is In Real Life

Stranger Things star Finn Wolfhard reveals how close the core cast members are in real life. First released on Netflix in 2016, Stranger Things is now one of the streamer’s most popular shows. Created by the Duffer Brothers, the hit horror/ fantasy series most recently released season 4, which saw Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown), Mike (Wolfhard), Dustin (Gaten Matarazzo), Will (Noah Schnapp), Lucas (Caleb McLaughlin), and the rest of the gang face off against Vecna (Jamie Campbell Bower), a dangerous new villain. Stranger Things‘ most recent season was met with mostly positive reviews from critics, with the core characters shining through once more as their dynamic continues to evolve.

In a recent interview with GQ, Wolfhard addresses how close he is with the other core cast members of Stranger Things. The actor reveals they’re all essentially a big loving family at this point but that they don’t actually talk as often as some may expect between filming on seasons. Wolfhard explains that, much like in season 4, his costars are all “on their own quests in real life” at the moment as they attempt to prepare for Stranger Things‘ imminent conclusion with season 5. Check out Wolfhard’s full comment below:

“We’re not on everyday-text vibes in any way, and not because… it’s like… Do you text your cousins every day? Probably not. They’re our family. We’ll talk on each other’s birthdays. We’ll talk once in a while. But in the same way that family works, if I ever needed anything, they’re there.”

Stranger Things’ Cast Is What Makes The Show Great

When Stranger Things first hit Netflix in 2016, it quickly started to develop a passionate following. The retro 1980s setting, impressive effects, and tense atmosphere are all a large part of the reason why Stranger Things has become such a cultural juggernaut, but it’s really the relationship between the characters that is at the core of the show’s success. Stranger Things‘ opening moments feature Mike, Dustin, Will, and Lucas playing Dungeons and Dragons, and it quickly becomes clear that these four young actors have fantastic chemistry.

When a wrench is thrown into the friend group in the form of Eleven’s arrival, the dynamic starts to evolve. It’s through Brown’s character that Mike starts to grow up, with the budding romance between them causing ripples in the group’s plans. When Sadie Sink’s Max is introduced in season 2 the group evolves once more. Each new season of Stranger Things has continued to push the characters in exciting new directions as they come to terms with romantic feelings and different life aspirations. What remains constant, however, is that the actors involved all have great chemistry, which helps to make their characters’ highs feel higher and their lows feel lower.

Season 5 is set to be the show’s last, and it’s already looking like Mike and his friends will be tested like never before. The season 4 finale ends with Hawkins becoming ground zero for an Upside Down incursion into the real world, and it’s possible that Stranger Things season 5 will feature the death of a beloved character or two. It’s unclear how Wolfhard and his costars’ careers will continue to evolve when Stranger Things ends, but the actor’s comment would suggest that they will always be there for each other down the line.
