Stranger Things Fans Have Creative Responses To Writers’ Season 5 Tease

The Stranger Things writers posted a season 5 tease, which fans were quick to comment on in amusing fashion. Season 4 of the popular sci-fi series wrapped up earlier this year, bringing back fan-favorite characters including Millie Bobby Brown’s Eleven and Joe Keery’s Steve Harrington. In true Stranger Things fashion, the series also added a few characters fans fell in love with, who then died tragic deaths, such as Eddie Munson (Joe Quinn). After Eddie’s death took the Internet by storm and Max’s (Sadie Sink) fate was left uncertain, fans were quick to demand answers from season 5.Confirmed to be the series’ final installment, Stranger Things season 5 theories have been running wild online, including some about Eddie somehow returning from the grave and Nancy (Natalia Dyer) reuniting romantically with old flame Steve. Though little is known about the new season of the series, several actors involved, as well as the series creators, have teased details. For example, Dr. Owens actor Paul Reiser revealed that he asked the writers to bring his character back for Stranger Things season 5.Related: Stranger Things: What Happened To The Byers Family DogThe Stranger Things Writers recently posted a season 5 tease via Twitter in the form of a completely illegible, pixilated story grid. Despite the frustrating nature of the tweet, fans were quick to respond with cheeky jokes letting the writers know their thoughts. Check out the original tweets and replies below:

Though the writers engaged in some light trolling by titillating fans with an impossible-to-read ‘leak,’ viewers were quick to return the favor by joking about deciphering parts of it and sarcastically letting the writers know the photo was blurry. Some even posited their own theories in the form of ‘leaks,’ magnifying pieces of the blurred board and saying “does that say Dustin dies saving Steve?” and “BYLER ENDGAME.” Some also speculated about the large black void visible in the bottom corner of the board, which likely doesn’t bode well for the intrepid Hawkins gang. Whatever it does contain, the writers have previously stated the cast won’t expand much more, which means the original gang will have to deal with whatever the board contains. Whatever season 5 does include, it’s sure to provide satisfying conclusions to the series’ many relationships, though perhaps not exactly the way fans have speculated.

Fans may not know exactly what season 5 has in store, but it’s unlikely that every member of the cast will make it out alive. Brown and Maya Hawke have previously expressed feeling that Stranger Things has too many characters, making it difficult to follow at times, and creators Matt and Ross Duffer defended the lack of original character deaths on the series. However, Stranger Things season 5 may change that, since the creators will be eager to leave fans with a bang.
