An unfortunate The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim player has shared a look at an unsettling bug that produced a blood fountain right in the middle of Windstad Manor, highlighting yet another strange glitch in the Bethesda game. It has been more than a decade since the fifth installment in the Elder Scrolls series debuted, and since then it has managed to maintain a strong player base and modding community that has transitioned through multiple console generations as well as multiple different Skyrim re-releases, but bugs and glitches are still a commonplace occurrence for many.
Even though Bethesda’s massively successful open-world title Skyrim has seen constant maintenance and attention from both developers and fans alike for over ten years, it does not run perfectly all the time. At this point, many view the numerous bugs that still crop up as just another piece of the puzzle that makes adventuring across the land of the Nords so enjoyable. Often times the glitches take humorous, non-game-breaking forms that are somehow still novel thanks to the sheer variety of mishaps that can happen. Some examples include one player that managed to turn themselves into a horse or another who witnessed a dead Skyrim dragon grow out of the ground.
Another entry on the long list of Skyrim glitches comes from Reddit user RocketBabyDoii who shared their encounter with a small, random geyser of blood spewing out of the floor in Windstad Manor. As they were playing the game on PC, the player was able to use console commands to glitch through the floor in an attempt to find the source of this surprise fountain. As it turns out, there is simply nothing there and what is more unsettling is that RocketBabyDoii seems unable to figure out how to stop it.

Like many of the other bugs found across the land of the Nords in recent years, the Skyrim community seemed to find this one just as humorous, with comments seeing the funny side of the odd glitch. While this one also does not appear to be game-breaking, it does set itself apart with a slight creepiness factor. There have been others that fall into this category, including one glitch that made Skyrim‘s Lydia appear possessed.
It speaks to the quality of Skyrim that after ten years and multiple re-releases the community still engages with one another over something as small as an isolated bug. The comradery built around this title is so strong that it could actually work against The Elder Scrolls 6 when it finally debuts. If Bethesda’s next installment does not at least meet the standards set all the way back in 2011 – barring its bugs – then at least fans will have a well-cultivated title to fall back on in Skyrim.
