Strange New Worlds Wants Tawny Newsome Back For Another Star Trek Crossover

Star Trek: Lower Decks‘ Tawny Newsome says Star Trek: Strange New Worlds producers are “scheming” to get her back aboard the Starship Enterprise. Newsome and Jack Quaid brought their Lower Decker Ensigns, Beckett Mariner and Bradward Boimler, to live-action in Strange New Worlds season 2’s crossover, “Those Old Scientists.” Directed by Jonathan Frakes, the comedic Strange New Worlds crossover episode was a favorite with critics and audiences.

At ST-SF: Trek to San Francisco, Star Trek: Lower Decks cast members Tawny Newsome, Dawnn Lewis, and Eugene Cordero took the stage to talk about their animated comedy, which is about to enter season 5. As reported by TrekMovie, Newsome disclosed that there is no new crossover episode in Star Trek: Strange New Worlds season 3, but co-showunners Akiva Goldsman and Henry Alonso Myers have funny ideas on how to get Newsome back on their show. So there is not a crossover currently slated. But I will tell you every time I’m at like, the Saturn Awards or Critics Choice or something, Akiva Goldsman and Henry Alonso Meyers – the showrunners for Strange New Worlds – are always like, ‘We had another idea for how to get you on the show. Would you ever dress as a Ferengi and come on…?’ They are always scheming. Half of it is us joking and pitching, but I do believe that if something came up in the room, we’d all rush to do it.
