Starfield: Eye Of The Storm Quest Walkthrough (Choices & Rewards)

Starfield: Eye Of The Storm Quest Walkthrough (Choices & Rewards)

After completing the “Absolute Power” quest, you will have unlocked “Eye of the Storm“, which is one of the most pivotal missions in Starfield. This mission will take you through heists and action-packed battles before giving you the option of siding with the Crimson Fleet or the United Colonies. The choice you make is critical to the game and will have an impact on the rest of your story and playthrough.

Because this is one of the biggest missions and choices you’ll undertake in Starfield, it’s wise to know what to do beforehand. Furthermore, it pays to know the consequences and rewards of your actions upon making that final decision of which Starfield faction to join.

Speak With Delgado

Starfield: Eye Of The Storm Quest Walkthrough (Choices & Rewards)

You begin the “Eye of the Storm” quest by speaking with Delgado on The Key and providing him with the Connection Grid Data. Following that, Delgado will ask you to prepare your ship for Bannoc IV and retrieve Jasper Kryx’s artifact. However, Jazz (who’s also part of the conversation) will inform you that you must first construct and install a Conduction Grid Module and a ComSpike Module on your ship. They each only need one connection node which is easily available on most ships.

Once you’ve finished the main conversation, continue speaking with Jazz until you see the option to view and modify your ship.

  1. In the Shipbuilder window, click “Add.”
  2. From here, cycle through the tabs in the top right to “Equipment.”
  3. You’ll see the Conduction Grid Module. Select it and install it on your ship.
  4. Now do the same thing for the ComSpike Module.

Proceed To UC Vigilance And Bannoc IV

Eye of the Storm

After you’ve installed both modules on your ship, and before embarking on Bannoc IV, you’ll need to pay Commander Ikande a visit on the UC Vigilance in Sagan. He will ask you to deliver Kryx’s Legacy to the UC Vigilance. He also emphasizes the importance of not allowing Delgado access to the credits, among other things. As a result, it’s critical to exhaust all dialogue options here, as the responses provided by Commander Ikande will influence your decision later on.

Once all is said and done, return to your ship and jump to Bannoc IV. When you arrive, you’ll have to navigate around some space rocks in order to dock your ship at the Legacy.

Aboard The Legacy

Now that you’ve boarded The Legacy, follow your objective marker through the ship’s corridors until you reach the Transfer Module Lock. To open the lock, you’ll need the Galbank Transfer Module, which can be found on the ground next to the dead spacer. Collect it, then return to the Transfer Module Lock to proceed to the next section.

Continue following your objective marker until you arrive at the Credtank. After activating it and collecting the credits, proceed to the Vault Control Center. When you open the door, the sensors will trip, so prepare to fight a Combat Robot and some turrets. Once eliminated, head to the back left of the room and lock-pick the door to continue on your way.

Recover Jasper Kryx’s Possessions

Eye of the Storm

Follow the objective marker through The Legacy until you reach the Vault Control Center. In this room, you’ll find a deceased Jasper Kryx in the chair next to the main controls. The “Revenant” Legendary Rifle and the GBLRO11: The Waiting Game audio recording is to Kryx’s left on the table. Pick up both, as you’ll need the audio log to figure out how to reroute the ship’s power and the Revenant is one of the best rifles in Starfield. Also don’t forget to pick up the Galbank Transfer Module, which can be found on the ground next to Jasper Kryx.

The audio log will note that you have to reroute the ship’s power. This is easily done by interacting with the two yellow switches in the Vault Control Room. Your HUD will also mark them. Once the power is restored, unlock both the Transfer Module Locks. Following that, activate the Data Core Port to download the Credit Reserves. Shortly after, The Legacy will start to implode and you’ll have to escape the ship.

Escaping The Legacy

Escaping the Legacy is rather straightforward. Follow either two of your objective markers to get back to your ship and escape the exploding Legacy. There will be lots of robots to fight off, so be sure to take your time as the ship will not explode until you’ve escaped.

The Final Decision

Delgado

Once you’ve reached your ship and escaped the legacy, you’ll need to select your jump destination – this is where you decide whether to side with the Crimson Fleet or Sys Def. If you jump to Kryx and decide to give Jasper Kryx’s Legacy to Delgado, you will side with the Crimson Fleet. If you jump to Sagan and give the legacy to Commandor Ikande, you will side with the United Colonies. Your decision ultimately determines who you fight alongside in the final faction mission “Legacy’s End.

Should You Side With the Crimson Fleet or the United Colonies?

Delgado of the Crimson Fleet and Commander Ikande of UC SysDef stand in front of an explosion in space.

Spoiler Alert

Side with Commandor Ikande and United Colonies (Betray Delgado)

If you choose to side with the UC SysDef, you will join the United Colonies in one final stand to take down the Crimson Fleet. Nearing the end of this fight, you will have to choose whether to kill or imprison Delgado. However, imprisoning Delgado will require strong social skills, and if you fail, he will blow up the reactor and destroy the Crimson Fleet. If you successfully imprison Delgado, the United Colonies will take control of the Crimson Fleet.

  • Lose access to The Key, Vendors on the Ship, and Crimson Fleet Mission Board
  • Crimson Fleet will be hostile towards you for the rest of the game
  • You’ll get access to the UC SysDef mission board.

Side with Delgado and the Crimson Fleet (Betray Commander Ikande)

If you choose to side with Delgado and the Crimson Fleet, you will learn the United Colonies is launching an attack on the Crimson Fleet. Here, you will fight alongside Delgado and have the same choice of either killing Commander Ikande or convincing him to surrender before he blows up his ship and everyone on board.

  • Lose access to the Vigilance and SecDef Mission Board, however, can still travel in UC Space.
  • Companions may not approve of your decision.

Regardless of who you side with, you receive 250,000 credits for your efforts. The more pressing question posed by the “Eye of the Storm” quest is how you want to define your character and have the rest of Starfield play out.
