Within a new preview for the special, the Star-Hopper padawans are introduced: Quort, Farzala Tarabal, and Lula Talisola. Their personalities have not yet been seen, so their attitudes towards the young initiates have yet to be known. However, it does set up a partnership between Nubs and Quort, as selected by Master Yoda. The pair will be flying in a Vector, as the Innovator visits Tanoo. This is the latest adventure in the High Republic era, introducing new ships and details about the Jedi, as well as about the training younglings undergo to eventually become Jedi Knights. The synopsis is as follows:

Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures – Sky Parade Rescue, written by Daniel José Older with art by Andy Duggan, finds younglings Lys, Kai, and Nubs on Tenoo, eagerly anticipating the arrival of Padawans and Master Yoda.

The Star-Hopper padawans have recently begun their training with Master Yoda, while the Innovator is referred to as a “science ship“. This further pushes the exploratory nature and approach that has been seen within The High Republic. While the exact year that Young Jedi Adventures takes place is not known, the show has done an excellent job of blending preschool-appropriate storytelling with iconic Star Wars elements and thrills. With it venturing outside of television, there will now be comics available for every Star Wars fan age level, allowing parents to share the excitement of the franchise with their youngest kids.

Young Jedi Adventures’ Nubs Takes the Spotlight in New Comic

The preview shows Nub being nervous that the padawans won’t be able to understand him, since he is a Pooba that speaks Poobian. This is a common problem children may experience in their communities, which is often addressed via droids in the Star Wars universe. C-3PO serves as the primary translator in Star Wars media, though some characters are fluent in several languages. However, without a droid like him around, it could be harder for Nubs to feel like he fits in among other sentient species in the galaxy. The world of Star Wars continues to expand and Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures is the next promising installment within the franchise’s comic storytelling.

Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures – Sky Parade Rescue will be available on Free Comic Book Day, from Dark Horse Comics.
