Star Wars x MCU Crossover: 10 Wild Fan Theories That May Just Be Plausible

Star Wars x MCU Crossover: 10 Wild Fan Theories That May Just Be Plausible

Marvel Studios and LucasFilm are two of The Walt Disney Company’s most prestigious studios. Their acquisitions have proven to be a massive move for the House of Mouse, and fans are always looking at whether Star Wars and the Marvel Cinematic Universe could actually cross over with one another.

If it was to ever happen, despite what Kevin Feige has said on the issue, there’s a number of wild fan theories on how it could all take place. A full-on crossover might actually be impossible long term, but there are even some small ways in which these two universes can be teased to be in the exact same continuity.

The Watchers

Marvel’s What If…? has demonstrated that the universe is about to expand into a diverse range of different Marvel realities. Watching over all of them though is Uatu, the Watcher. A cosmic being who can see all of space and time, Uatu is tasked with never being able to interfere.

There are plenty of theories that reasonably suggest that The Watcher could potentially also be looking over the galaxy far far away. The alien species certainly wouldn’t look out of place in the George Lucas franchise and would be a cool connection between the two series.

Time Travel

The Marvel Universe has dived deep into the concept of time travel, with both the movies, Disney+, and even ABC TV shows all demonstrating their own methods of meddling with the timeline. This could very well be a method to link into Star Wars.

Travel back far enough and perhaps the Avengers or even a time-traveling character like Kang the Conquerer may come across the Star Wars continuity. Alternatively, the continued tempering with time might actually result in the creation of these Star Wars stories in the MCU.

The Multiverse

In regards to the multiple realities being formed, the Multiverse appears to be on its way to the MCU. The comics also have things like the wider Omniverse though, where all franchises can be found connected to one another in some way (and indeed have crossed over in the source material).

If it works in the comics though, then why shouldn’t it in the MCU? The Star Wars galaxy could very much be an alternative timeline and would be believable since both franchises actually share some of the same actors. Who wouldn’t want to see a Multiversal Mace Windu and Nick Fury crossover after all?

Cosmic Exploration

There’s a number of characters who continue to explore the cosmic realms of the MCU including Captain Marvel and the Guardians of the Galaxy. There’s still so much that Marvel fans don’t know about the cosmos itself though; which planets could actually be present in the depths of space?

It could be possible that the Marvel Universe could introduce planets from a galaxy far far away but in the modern era. Alongside Hala and Titan therefore fans may get to see Hoth and Tatooine. It would be fascinating to see the likes of the Guardians in Mos Eisley Cantina.

Surfacing Artifacts

Fan theories also suggest that the Avengers could come across artifacts from a long time ago. Things like Lightsabers or other powerful Jedi objects might have survived the various wars and act as some kind of sign of the distant past. These easter eggs would be enough for fans!

It could even link into some kind of mystery surrounding what came before the current Marvel Universe. The mythology of the Jedi and the Sith could give humanity clues as to how so many of Earth’s mightiest have powers and where many of the aliens species originated from.

The Force

The Force is a vital piece of lore in Star Wars, but perhaps it could be brought into the MCU as a connection between the two. Indeed, it’s plausible that some of the powers within the Marvel Universe could even be partially down to the existence of the Force.

In theory, the Force exists in every living thing and would not have died out in the modern-day, despite no one quite understanding how to utilize it. It would only take a single Jedi to once again unlock the incredible abilities of the Force. Perhaps it’s something the Sorcerer Supreme could learn to master.

Revelation Of Earth

There are always theories surfacing that Earth could be revealed in the Star Wars galaxy, but thus far that hasn’t been the case. There’s always the possibility that down the line Earth could be brought into the galaxy, as although it’s supposedly far far away a bit of Hyperspace travel may solve that.

The origins of Earth would therefore tie in perfectly to the Marvel Universe and there could be a semi-crossover in this way, with the timeline being tracked from this original discovery of the planet to the modern times where it’s populated by Earth’s mightiest.

Stepping Into A Fictionalized Universe

The Star Wars Universe has actually be mentioned in the MCU already, with Spider-Man making plenty of references to it. That means that there’s already been a tiny crossover, but not in the way fans might have wanted. There’s potential for the future though.

It’s feasible that some of the Earth’s heroes and villains actually step into the fictionalized universe. It’s not out of the question considering some of the crazy reality hopping and bending that has already happened and feels like the sort of story that could play out in the comics.

Familiar Technologies

While leftover artifacts might be a sign of the past, another option could be the use of technologies that first debuted in the Star Wars universe. Perhaps an old X-Wing can be found and piloted by Iron Man, or droid components might make up a new Ultron.

There’s plenty of ways to make subtle nods to what might have come before, but technology feels like the most natural connection between the two franchises. Of course, it would have to be presented as alien in some manner, as Star Wars tech is far more advanced than what humanity has previously seen.

The World Between Worlds

In Star Wars there is the World Between Worlds, which is an area in the cosmos that has been created by the Force. It allows people to travel through time and space and perhaps even reality in confusing and complex ways. It might end up being a path between the MCU and Star Wars.

There are definitely characters in the MCU who could potentially find their way to this incredible place. The Scarlet Witch is one of the most powerful beings in the whole universe, so it wouldn’t be unbelievable to find her floating through the World Between Worlds into the galaxy beyond.
