Warning: SPOILERS for Star Wars: The Rise of Kylo Ren #1
The story of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker has given an ending to the story of Kylo Ren, along with the rest of the original movie saga. But one mystery that the movies don’t resolve is exactly how Ben Solo was corrupted into the First Order villain… and how he dealt with the first Jedi heroes to stand against him in the wake of the Jedi temple’s destruction (and his betrayal of Luke Skywalker). So it’s a good thing Kylo has his own comic book to fill in the gaps.
The fate of Luke’s other Jedi students seemed unclear in the sequel trilogy, but the mystery was dispelled in the very first issue of the Star Wars: The Rise of Kylo Ren comic series, from writer Charles Soule and artist Will Sliney. Not only did the villain’s origin story “from Ben To Ren” start with Ben Solo watching as Luke’s academy burns to the ground, but also revealed the handful of Jedi students who survived off-planet. Now the official plot synopsis for Rise of Kylo Ren #3 reveals the location where these last Jedi will take their stand against Ben… and where their story will almost certainly come to an end.
The other Jedi students, Tai, Hennix, and Voe have already joined the new canon of Star Wars, leaving the burning academy in pursuit of their former friend Ben Solo.
