Star Wars Hints Luke Skywalker’s Jedi Order Started With A Mind-Blowing Ally

Star Wars Hints Luke Skywalker’s Jedi Order Started With A Mind-Blowing Ally

Warning! This post contains SPOILERS for Star Wars: Doctor Aphra #40

Star Wars is teasing an equally surprising and exciting ally who might have very well helped Luke Skywalker kickstart his Jedi Order. In the aftermath of Return of the Jedi, it’s been confirmed that Luke started building his own temple on the Jedi world of Ossus. However, he may have had more help than realized when it came to finding all the relics and texts he’d use to teach his future students.

As seen in the final issue of Star Wars’ current Doctor Aphra series from Alyssa Wong and Minkyu Jung setter between Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, it’s revealed that the titular archaeologist survived her sacrifice from the previous issue. To that end, Doctor Aphra has seemingly stumbled upon the ruins of an ancient Jedi outpost on the world of Rocedila as seen in Doctor Aphra #40.

Unable to resist exploring the ruins further, Aphra eventually makes an incredible discovery, one that could very well set up the future of Luke’s Jedi Order in the wake of Return of the Jedi.

Doctor Aphra Just Made A Major Jedi Discovery

An Ancient Jedi Book

Jedi Texts In Doctor Aphra 40

A rare find in the Star Wars galaxy, Doctor Aphra has found herself in the possession of an ancient book with actual pages and writings. Filled with all sorts of knowledge and secrets recorded by the Jedi, it’s quite possible that this tome could be part of the Sacred Jedi Texts, a collection of books gathered by Luke Skywalker in the aftermath of the original which he revered (back when he still idealized the Jedi Order of the past).

While it’s not fully known what kind of knowledge the book may contain, one page is particularly interesting as it looks to contain various space sectors across the galaxy. To that end, perhaps this book contains ancient star maps of various worlds that were first founded and discovered by the Jedi themselves. This could include classic Jedi worlds such as Ossus, Tython, and even Ahch-To, the site of the first Jedi Temple and the world of Luke’s exile following the corruption of his nephew Ben Solo.

Will Aphra Sell It To The Highest Bidder?

Doctor Aphra Finds Ancient Jedi Texts

All in all, it’s obvious the new book in Doctor Aphra’s possession would be of great personal value to Luke Skywalker in his efforts to become a Jedi Master and one day teach future Force-sensitives the ways of the Jedi. Although Aphra has her heart set on selling the book to the highest bidder, her altruism has certainly grown over time, at least to the point where she’s realized fortune means nothing if she doesn’t have someone to share it with like Sana Starros.

It’s also worth noting that Aphra does have a sort of preexisting relationship with Luke Skywalker. To that end, it wouldn’t be surprising if this final issue Doctor Aphra series is effectively teeing up a future series in which she ends up giving the book to Luke to help him start his own Jedi Order in the wake of the Empire’s fall. Although this may be the final issue of this current Doctor Aphra series, the last page confirms that the rogue archaeologist will return, an indication that Star Wars is by no means done with her just yet.
